Hiya, I lubricate my doubles identically to this tutorial with only one exception. I also put a bit of grease on the fore end hook. Great information.

On shotguns like the Beretta DT 11, the internal parts of a detachable trigger group can be greased ? For example the pin of the hammers, sear lever, inertia block or any part with friction

You stated all moving parts should be lubed, but what about the trigger assembly? Surely there are moving parts involved with the trigger.

Am always hesitant to use the metal bore brush as am afraid to scratch the bore. Any tips please? Beginner here 😁
@angelos89583 жыл бұрын
the barrels are built to withstand a shot running through them. i doubt you can damage them with a the metal brush

copper or brass brushes -never use steel ,especially on old guns. I use a drill at low speed. Cleans everything out.Leaves the bores bright and shiny.

In most of the shotgun cleaning kits there will be a phosphor bronze brush to remove fouling in the bores, don't worry about this brush scratching the bores. This type of cleaning brush is way, way softer than the bore of a shotgun. My preferred method of cleaning inside the barrels is to squirt some powder solvent from the breech end and agitate it with the phosphor bronze brush, let it dwell for a couple of minutes then i scrunch up some blue roll/kitchen roll and push that down the bores. That should be all you need regarding powder/plastic residue removal. if not repeat the process. Finally a little gun oil on a wool mop down the bores before storage. A wipe over the external surfaces of the shotgun with an oily cloth will finish the cleaning process. Then i pop the gun in a gun sock and away it goes in the cabinet. Don't forget to remove any oil from the bores prior to shooting next time.

Is "leisure spray" (that's what it sounded like to my American ears, anyway) the same as CLP?
