It’s very easy with the new coatings today. I didn’t have much confidence till I did the DIY detail coating last year. So easy.

I also did my own ceramic coating on my 4Runner. I did all the appropriate steps and machine polished my car. It came out great but it also took me about 13 hours total. You can do it, just know the steps and take your time.

@@stevejordan9567 It’s 90% prep and polishing a car by yourself takes so dang long especially if it’s a 2 step. If you can do a polish you can install a coating. Hope you coating does well for you!

I have not installed lite but I have installed Hydra on a few vehicles and the self cleaning attributes are crazy. By all means purchase Lite and enjoy easier maintenance washes and crazy hydroponics. The gloss is awesome too.

Yeah, app is required for their pro coatings, but the lite it is suggested. Pretty sure required to get the support and warranty type stuff.

@@CarsWithKeavHey. How do you get such great pressure with your water? Are you using some type of equipment to boost your pressure? I get anywhere between 54psi to 64psi depending on if the city has made the adjustments needed since the development we live in releases more townhomes. Meaning that each time the builder opens up a 4 unit townhome when they are done they open up the water to those units. We can always tell they do that since our water pressure drops for a week or 2. Our plumber told us that the city gets pressure readings off of all our meters and when they get alerts when a developments water meters drop they make adjustments to that area. Not sure if that is true or not but the pressure seems to go back up to where we see peaks of pressure at night around 70. We have a meter on our PRV so we can see our pressure as well as we have a Flo by Moen whole house smart water shut off system and it tells us the pressure at all times. This is how we know this. But once the builder finishes a whole new building the pressure drops again. Sucks. Also how are you able to dial your pressure up and down? I wish there was a way we could talk so I can understand some of that more.

I'm always a believer in using the panel prep designated by the coating manufacturer (cheap insurance) but I'm definitely curious to see how this plays out with this coating. I will be buying it and using APP, but this is a good test. Did you notice any difference in flash time between the two preps?

Hey Keav I dig your content,you know your stuff, had a question , i got 2 DA polishers the G8 the G9 have done multiple of paint corrections for my own vehicles and my customers vehicles. have been wanting to get into a rotary , which quality rotaries would you recommend?

First off, great demo and review. Let’s get that right. Finally, finally we get to see (witness) you polishing; hell yeah! Shinemate polisher, yes? I watched Brian from Apex Auto Detail test/demo this product a few weeks back and it does require meticulous effort (that's a good thing on high-end products) and an additional polishing step after a multilevel paint correction, but I have questions, of course. Note: This is not a coating I would recommend for a first-time user having zero experience, let’s be really honest (please watch Apex Auto Detail video) you MUST pay very close attention to that rainbowing effect (it's almost instant!) for wipe-off. So little of the "APP" polish is used/required so... why not in a smaller standard 8oz. bottle of this product? I know I'm playing the 'Devil's Advocate' here, but why spend $345.00 - $385.00 on a C6 6-year coating when DIY's $160.00 8-year coating has already proven itself as a solid coating and to top it off... the average person (willing to follow step-by-step instructions) can install that coating with much more success and without issues? My real issue (again, with my pov) is why is the heck is DIY Detail competing with themselves amongst their own great products. It's just too hot in AZ for me to try C6 or apply right now. I would require a garage with A/C to keep the ideal temp around 72 - 76 degrees. That amazing water behavior reminds me of the original CarPro CQUARTZ. Now there's CarPro DQUARTZ for Nano Diamond Quartz Fusion Coatings. Maybe the DIY Detail’s goal was to create a coating with a hardness that could withstand the occasional tunnel wash from time to time and do no damage. Note: Regardless of any coatings "Years" rating, if the end-user doesn't do 'ALL' the preparation work prior, that coating will fail early; no matter what it cost. There are no shortcuts to the longevity of a coating. I would have named this product DIY's "D6 Coating" for the "D" for the Exployed "D"iamonds business and help differentiate it from all their other coatings. I'm still not 100% buying into the graphene business as I've had that gray/black allegedly the graphene liquid turn clear? Again, fantastic review, and don't go running off to hide that polisher (lol).

Still learning with the polisher and yes it is a Shinemate EX620 recommended to me by EC details. Prep is everything for sure. I found this easier to install than DIY Detail 8 year as the flashing was easier to see it progress. I wonder if being too concise could cause you to take longer to coat and when done it’s already flashing off. Going quicker with the circle motion and half the hood was just the right amount of time and not using cross hatch to me gets you less chances of high spots. I agree the App polish should come in a smaller bottle for consumers I would understand the big bottle for a pro as they would use on many cars. That’s why I did one side without it as it’s not required for the Hydro lite, but is suggested. C6 is supposed to be about the carbon that creates the diamonds as that is the periodic table symbol for it. I feel the price range keeps them separate and not competing with each other. If you want crazy hydrophobics then this is your coating. For most the 8 year will be more than enough for sure and price is good on that. Yvan says the nano diamonds are more for helping with water spotting and will help keep the coating from fracturing early. Graphene has its place, but it’s not for longevity to me the DIY Detail 3 year broke down a little early.

It has a oil spill like rainbow look after applying and will flash off once that is half gone you can start leveling. If you notice I did anything check with a microfiber and you chef the surface of the mricrofiber leaves an imprint it’s not ready yet.

@@CarsWithKeav off topic: but if micro scratches / marring still occurs even with the slickest soaps and most careful methods, i feel like it doesn't matter too much how you wash the car. Meaning one bucket and a rinse of the mitt in between panels versus two buckets. Even dumping 6-10 mitts in a bucket and using each side before tossing it in a dirty bucket after will probably still do damage. Which means that pre wash / foam and rinse is probably the only chance we get to removing anything significant to reduce. Which brings me back to the topic. Having a long term coating depending on who you ask may not be a waste if you have to polish out things every couple years. However, the hydrophobics on that Hydro Lite is out of this world 😍

@@MarcYanOfficial Anytime you touch the surface you risk scratching and I agree the prewash is the most important step to mitigate scratching. A good coating will make that prewash more effective and sometime the contact might not even be needed due to the dirt not sticking as easily. The Hydrophobics make using a leaf blower easier so you limit another contact with a drying towel.

They will have a Marine line as well not sure on when it will be available, but marine equipment has a different surface and there are specific coatings for them. Gtechniq Marine is a very good line of Marine products and coatings.

Get some thin cotton gloves to put inside your plastic gloves. Please do not install a coating without gloves.

I have the same question as many others. Bottle was designed for the pros who will be doing many installs, but if it’s suggested for the hydro lite a figure a small bottle would be a good idea.

This product is claimed for 6 years and their other coatings are claimed for 3, 5 and 8 years. I can’t speak for the pro coatings as I’ll never use them. I like their products, but we can all have our opinions.

I've used multiple versions of gyeon, gtechniq, adam and system X ceramic coating. The C6 pro grade hydro is unlike anything I've ever seen or used. The extremely simple and easy application process. The nearly self leveling coating during removal. The insane hydrophobic properties. It is however the most expensive but I've switched my entire business to serve exclusively C6 coating now. I know it sounds like snake oil but buy yourself just 1 single bottle and you'll understand.

It’s expensive for sure and I myself wouldn’t buy it just because of the price, but I won’t make my determination on if it’s worth it or not until I see what it does over the next year or more of abuse. I wouldn’t put on my own car without thoroughly testing it out first. Too much work to remove a coating.
