C6 Z06 Twin Turbo Build: Part 1

EDIT: Had some copyright issues so I apologie if the music/audio is messed up!
Decided the z06 needs a bit more power. A set of twin turbos should do the trick. Much much more to come!

Great choice. My 09 Z06 got a brand new 5.3 from TX Speed bored Darton sleeved forged pistons on stock rods and crank. Im back up to 427 cubes and stainless-steel valves bronze guides in the heads due to my original snapping and grenade my engine.

Good work man!! You keep them cars shining, and running right and that is good to go. Got a C7 ZO6 and shopping for a C6 not sure yet ZR1 or ZO6 or both.

Another great vid my man! Just found your channel recently and I’m catching up. I like the content as you seem pretty fair as far as not minding having a ford here and there. Been a mustang guy since I was a kid and owned over 10 since I was 17. My best was my 2012 Shelby. 725 to the wheels. I’m from RI so I might catch ya on 95 some day !! lol

Beautiful car!!! I have a 5.3 in my Silverado, I was thinking of putting it in a Miata but it’s a $10,000 build kit... Decided to just build the mustang instead...

So car lift jealous right now haha! Half way thru my 900rwhp+ ZR1 build right now. Hope to see you at seacoast cars & coffee sometime this summer. We gotta do some pulls. Thanks for sharing

Hey Chris! Just wanted to say, love your channel- this is my second watch through of this entire series. I'm a complete noob in the car world, my current car (2017 VW GTI) is the first car I've ever owned and you've inspired me to get more hands on a learn about how it works. I'm curious where you learned all that you know. Are you a mechanic by trade or has this all been stuff you've learned over the years through your own projects? A z06 is my dream car since I was a kid and I hope to one day own and work on one in a garage like yours. Keep up the awesome work!

I hope your roads by you are smooth and no potholes, those Yokohama tires would’ve been clutch when you blow out one or two tires. But great vehicle.

This was stock bottom end LS7, WCCH heads, BTR stage 4 cam, MSD intake ported by tony mamo, 2" ARH Headers, and a 102mm TB

Are you not worried about the large difference in Linear thermal expansion coefficients between the cast iron and SS? Seems like a crack waiting to happen. Just curious. I am on post #52 on the Corvette Forum and I'm enjoying the process thus far, so good luck with the build!

Its possible they could crack, but plenty of sucessful turbo builds have started with cast iron manifolds with v-bands welded to them without issues, so Im taking my chances for now. Had no issues on my last turbo corvette I did this on as well.
