The Budapest-Hegyeshalom-Rajka railway line is one of the most important railway lines in Hungary, the main line No. 1 of MÁV between the Déli and Keleti railway stations in Budapest and the Hungarian-Austrian/Hungarian-Slovakian border. The double-track line between Budapest and Vienna was electrified between 1931 and 1933.
The line is of particular importance in terms of the international connections it provides, as it is part of the transcontinental international transport corridor that runs from the Bosphorus to the Dover Strait, crossing Europe in a south-east-north-west direction. It was a route of the famous Orient Express.

And another interesting feature on the line is that the classic, Solari di Udine-type flip displays can only be found at 4 stations: Tatabánya, Komárom, Győr and Hegyeshalom.

Diese Strecke bin ich zwischen 2001 und 2019 mehrmals im Sommer mit dem Nachtzug von München nach Budapest-Keleti und zurück gefahren. Schön die Strecke mal aus dieser Perspektive zu sehen.

What to say about this beautiful video? Another pearl signed by David Sousa! The Budapest Vienna main line passes near the Danube and touches important centers such as Tatabanya and Gyor, two industrial centers as well as regional capitals. A city you mention near Budapest is certainly Esztergom, the ancient Strigonium, separated from nearby Sturovo in Slovakia only by the Danube. Beautiful line with a Taurus that plays continuously and speeds through the Hungarian countryside without encountering obstacles. If you have the opportunity, the Budapest Bratislava line on the other side of the Danube is also beautiful, because it follows the bends of the river and is not straight, but rather a bit tortuous. Anyway, always great videos! now I will gradually watch the videos of Brazil when I have time. Heartfelt congratulations! I saw on the site that there would also be a section of the Oviedo Ferrol or Oviedo Santander Line; I was wondering when you will upload it? That would be a line, traveling from Santander to Ferrol, that is truly worth a trip or holiday along the Cantabrian Cordillera, in what is called Green Spain. Hello A few additions to the beginning of the video. 2:25 left Class 460 "Grasshopper" shunting loco. They would take the CFR cars to their train. Next to it is a retro-painted luggage trolley. This car is reserved for wheelchair users. Before MÁV's blue era (approx. 1975), railway passenger cars were this color. 3:11 This is the new bridge. The old one was called Százlábú ( centipede ) because it had many concrete pillars. Until 1974, HÉV (suburban rail) ran on this old concrete bridge. Its terminus was next to Keleti. In the opening image series, you can see the right side where the stored coachs are. With the establishment of the metro, HÉV runs to Őrs vezér tér. From 4:52 It is not clear to me what you wanted to indicate. The Józsefváros railway station is there. Unfortunately, all that remains today are its ruins. The Miskolc-Szolnok direction is not this, but the two tracks to your left. 5:12 the arrow points to Északi Járműjavító (Northern Vehicle Repair) . That's gone too. A museum is planned for its buildings, and the workshops of the State Opera House have warehouses here. 5:40 the indicated direction crosses the bridge. Best.

@@RailRelaxation thats unfourtunate. if i remember correctly, Austria now suspended services between Hegyeshalom and Parndorf? i vaguely heard something about it, but im not sure. in the meantime, what other lines do you plan on doing in Austria? Wien-Breclav, Feldkirch-Buchs or Wien-Munchen are ones i'd like to see personally.

That bridge is relatively new. There was a real bad quality bridge there until recently that was so dangerous trains were instructed to cross it so slowly you could see paint try and grass grow before you finished crossing it. I'm assuming there are plans for the 3rd bridge line, probably making 1 exclusively for freight, it's just not done yet. That or the company was in cahoots with someone in the government and it was more expensive this way I dunno XD

This line is not jointly operated by MÁV and GYSEV. MÁV operates between Budapest and Hegyeshalom and only GYSEV operates between Hegyeshalom and Rajka.

Este vídeo, con buena edición, tiene dos problemas: definición baja, posiblemente por problemas de luz y, paisaje muy cerrado por vegetación durante la primera mitad, pero igual, gusta y espero sus vídeos todas las semanas.

Amigo mío, Hungría es actualmente un país muy rico en materia de plantas. Esto también causa problemas, especialmente durante las tormentas. En este tramo la distancia desde la vía del tren aún es larga.
