Zelňačka is a traditional Czech cabbage soup. It is one of the rich and hearty soups and is cooked in a large number of variants. The base is always cabbage, usually sauerkraut, and other vegetables such as potatoes or onions. Spices usually with salt, pepper, cumin and paprika. Bacon, smoked meat or sausage, dried mushrooms can be added, and at the end the soup can be supplemented with sour or sweet cream.
The most delicious cabbage is the one according to Mr. Hošek's recipe.
