a Tip for other beginners; sometimes you just want to work on designing, so put lars on a different monitor. Then while designing play episodes you don't think relates to what your designing, and you will pick up new tricks to use for your projects!

Lars Christensen, i did, still stumbling around, but hey ya gotta start some where right? Lol, last cad software i used was in middle school tech class 20 years ago now... Just saw in the funnel tutorial, you're in buffalo, if you have not yet, go to amy's place on north main(by u.b. south campus), and get a Mary's Masterpiece! (Extra chicken, extra cheese, or how ever your dietary allows), my favorite meal ever, i miss living up there, but its fun to come back, see friends, a show and the mandatory stop at amy's place.

Hello Lars, Im a newbie on Fusion 360 and have locked myself in my mancave everyday after work away from everything and have learned tons from your videos, I have followed your different videos and using different techniques on constructing my vacuum attachment very similar to your Shop Vac Nozzle, its almost done but have 2 problems, one is to shrink the side faces on back half of the nozzle .125 on each side and to flare out in the middle towards the front. and the second one is to counter bore 2 holes on top, the top of the nozzle is all flared out in different shapes and everytime I use the diamenter circle on top it puts it on the bottom of the part instead of the top which I am unable to simply counter bore the 2 holes, seems to me I should have counter bored before all the flare ups on top?

A morse taper is typically 1.49 degrees (around 3 degrees included).
@ClownWhisper
@ClownWhisper 2 жыл бұрын
Morris tapers are basically the same taper but like you say drill for example there are drills that fall under mt1 mt2 empty three empty four I have an empty 5 drill it's huge so there's no standards there. It would be nice to be able to define a taper over length and store it as a macro where you could just enter it into the taper box as for example mt1 Edward automatically apply that taper. Morris tapers I believe I can't remember for sure but I think they are not as simple as five degree I think they're 1.5° plus some minutes

re the "Delete" function at 33:00. Watching carefully, I see that "delete" deleted the feature that created the body (i.e. the split function). You can literally see the "split" feature disappear from the end of the chain.

@cadcamstuff
@cadcamstuff 6 жыл бұрын
Hi jared jaynes Thank you for watching! The trial version is actually the ultimate version, so no restrictions at all. You can not select a plane for shelling. It has to be a face. Try to make a simple square and select one face, then you should be good.

i'm doing a LarsLive marathon trying to learn fusion ,Excellent videos :) . a couple of questions: 1) around 41:20 you mentioned that pressing the middle mouse button will open a menu, that's not working for me. the middle mouse let me drag the canvas. can you explain again how it is done ? 2) i started modeling the part in this video in a different orientation then yours and after few sketches i tried to change the orientation ( selecting new "Front" in the cube at the right up side of the screen) to be the same as yours in the video. the orientation changed but any time i open a new sketch it is flipping back to the orientation before the change. is there a way to change that ? your videos are really helpful to get started with the software, thanks
@cadcamstuff
@cadcamstuff 6 жыл бұрын
Hi very1v Thank you for watching! I am wrong! I misspoke! Not MIDDLE mouse button...Left mouse button. Sorry for the confusion!!! In regards your second question, I think you would have to go back and change the original sketch plane location instead of the trick with the view cube. That could cause some headaches depending on how the modeling process. Hope you have an awesome day! Best, Lars

For the guy asking about taking a part out of an assembly. Could you: Take the cabinet file and say you want the door. Open cabinet file and save as 'new name' retaining the original file. Then delete all you don"t need and possibly re-constrain whats needed then save?
@cadcamstuff

Hi Scraggle Roc Thank you for watching! You could just right-click the door in the assembly and select Save Copy. That would save you from having to delete all the other components.

Lars (fellow upstate), I’ve learned all of my 360 skills from you, so thank you! I have been designing and printing things for my house for the past month with great success. But I am now stumped with a simple 2D part to be laser cut that despite hours of playing with it, I cannot get 360 to like the part design(cannot turn entities blue for reasons I don’t understand as they look fully constrained to me), and even creating it (compared to other design tools) seems very klutzy. I’m sure this means I’m doing it wrong, despite it being a very simple design. Is there a way to send the sketch to you? I think this simple thing could make a good but short how to video as it seems to invoke some things that I haven’t found in your other videos? (I have laser cut it, but had to do so with blue lines). Also one other question: should the dxf save include construction lines? Great work!
@cadcamstuff
@cadcamstuff 6 жыл бұрын
Hi gowfster1 Thank you for watching! I have come across a few scenarios in Fusion where part of the sketch stays blue. Many times if you have it full constrained, but then project some geometry or something. My rule is (And this might not be the best rule in the world, but...) If I can't drag any sketch entity or corner entity, then I move on to my next task. Because That is what the from blue to black is all about. You are welcome to send me the file, but I am struggling with my inbox at times and I might not have the time to look at it lars.christensen@autodesk.com I am not sure about the dxf export. I would have to test it out
