IMHO that's not good test, digital compression works usually on some discrete cosine transform. If all blocks toggle between dark and light there is actually no high frequency component in each block (check how DCT or jpeg compression woks on wikipedia). You need much less data to send that frame. When I watched your youtube video I got impression that you had problems while flying thought some obstacles. In that situation every block is highly changing and much more data is needed to send all of those blocks. My guess is that in highly changing frames produce some kind of lag on processing and sending those packets over radio. On/off light test will never show it. It's good for analog but not digital.

Carpe Noctem! I've been a long-time fan of your video cam reviews and latency tests. What's funny is that I just rewatched your DJI Antennas review in which you stated that "None of my reviews are scientific!" My reaction was "Whaaat?" Then KZfaq serves up another of your more-scientific-than-any-other-KZfaq-reviews camera latency tests. Thanks so much for all these excellent camera reviews and comparisons: when I'm considering camera purchases I always come here first.

Now I feel bad for not reviewing more cameras ;) but I really lost interest or curiosity for cams when they all perform the same. Now at least we have some divergence. Also I don't wanna test analog anymore... totally converted and spoiled by the high quality... Thanks for the nice comment!

Carpe Noctem! I love late evening and night flying. Got a taste of this on the Mobula7's back when my son and I were just starting out. We had so much fun with those even tho they were analog.

Thanks for clearing that up. I don’t have any issue but would have nebula pro over polar if choice was there because of less camera parameters that’s it. Appart from that all good for me man. Keep the vids coming mr shim I like your humour man and your simplistic nature. Humble nice guy.

It's a dirty job, but someones gotta do it :) Been testing the original DJI HD sys when it came out late 2019 as well - because I loved that they show it in the OSD of the goggles - but of course I didnt believe them without a test ;)

DJI cam in lowlatency mode of course is faster. ~20ms if you have top RF reception and ~30ms or more if signal isnt great. here's my old video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aq-ZmbeKnNrIioE.html if in HQ mode the latency is about the same as the polar I'd say.

correct, should be optimal for an exploration drone. If you fly into buildings with pretty bad light - you should still see a good ammount of details with this cam...
