Enjoyable stuff Eddie, It's years since i walked and camped the LG and the paths haven't half improved. Loved seeing that wee shelter which I didn't know about too. You've inspired me to dump the laptop and nip up to Loch Lomond for a quick pitch before work tomorrow, cheers Andy

By ya put some graft in there Eddie the bolders were bad enough but it was up bloody hill to boot, what a spectacular place though not for the faint hearted, it looked a bit cramped in the hut mind is that why the brollies came out, very enjoyable Eddie, ATB George.
@ScotsWildcamper7 жыл бұрын
George its killed some people that boulder pass , yes its for emergency only really that shelter, theres a bothy a few miles away. I couldn't believe the brollies but it might be a good idea. Take care !
@Markwildcamp7 жыл бұрын
Brilliant up there Eddie, the boulder pass is more difficult than it looks. That makes me want to get out, I'll stick a week in I think maybe mid September, and go exploring😎😎hopefully the midges might be away a bit by then. Atb Mark
@ScotsWildcamper7 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark hope to see you next winter up there at Feshie . People have died in the boulder pass. Yeah get out there i've got a 3 week work stint starting in September , midges should be less by then , take care Eddie.

That was a proper hike Eddie and what a landscape . All those rocks give it a real wilderness feel and yes , the paths don't look right in that landscape but great when you've a heavy pack on i bet . They looked identical to the start of a lot of the Mtb trails in Europe . Great stuff .Cheers . Austin.
@ScotsWildcamper7 жыл бұрын
I'll get on the plateau again A & L next winter weather permitting , Hate/love the paths lol , the ground was wild from the first camp spot to the mountain hut , hard going you know yourself how tiring it is. Its a great landscape , the north-west my favourite area but in winter this sub-arctic area 100 miles from Glasgow ( as mr crow flies ) is a fantastic playground. I'm looking forward to watching abit of your Alps adventure's not as much as you will be in going lol , have a great and safe time , Eddie.

Lovely filming Eddie.. the heather is certainly blooming up there.. nice to see.. such stunning landscape and blue skies too !!.. the wee hut looked very cosy.. and we laughed at the umbrella's.. a great hike good for the old fitness Eddie :) :) R&D

Yeah the fitness doesn't get any better R&D but i still get there. The umbrella's are a good idea if your brave enough to take them lol. I get back up there ( cairngorms ) this winter.ATB.

@ScotsWildcamper7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Glen i would love to go back in winter if someone else will go , best not go alone in winter up there. The boulder field has avalanches which has claimed lives , its dodgy with a heavy pack on but thankfully it wasn't windy and rainy. Take care.

Excellent video, takes me back to when I did something similar in 1995, 2 days backpacking up LG and 2 daywalks up Ben McD and another where I had to turn back from a whiteout, in October, snow at 2000ft or so. But took such a damn long time to get up to Aviemore from Midlands and back I've stuck to Wales, Pennines and Lakes ever since! That was the only time ever when a tent pole has blown over!
@ScotsWildcamper4 жыл бұрын
Wales is similar to Scotland and the Lakes is a lovely area I go to both regular now. ATB.

Incredible hike Eddie! I hope your knees held up to those rolling hills and that boulder section had to be rough! Beautiful hike though, the play of light on the hills was stunning! I'm two weeks into physical therapy and have made some gains but not nearly what I hoped for. I'll just press on and do what I can, no other choice really. Thank's for the fantastic video and allowing me to come along! Sincerely, Ossie
@ScotsWildcamper7 жыл бұрын
Knees have been fine on last 2 trips Ossie but i diid feel it on the boulders. Hikes in the wilds and physical therapy both a challenge and yes you have to get on with it. I think your progress will be slow and steady , pushing yourself too much could be negative. Always good to have you on board , ATB with recovery Eddie !!
@WyeExplorer7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing Eddie. I really enjoyed this one. I liked the long hike in as it allowed us to get a good feel for where you were. As you say pretty spectacular. Cool camps to. I don't blame you for the time management at all. You had a few balls being juggled and you had to go with it. Just remembered the runner....apart from her a few in the distance you and the group had it to yourself. All good. Mark.
@ScotsWildcamper7 жыл бұрын
Yes Mark we had planned for a different trip where the 2 nights would have sufficed , this trip needed another day.You live and learn. Its a popular hike but there's so many hiking options in Scotland its unbelievable. ATB !

Great video of our trek Eddie. It was a shame the weather spoilt our original plan but An Teallach will be there for another time. I think we did the right thing though at least we saw some sun and blue sky between the showers. It's a tough place for sure and the easy paths soon disappear once you get into the heart of The Cairngorms. Whilst 2 nights would have been more than enough for An Teallach we really needed another 1 or 2 nights here to do it justice but at least we hiked through The Lairig Ghru which is a feat in itself. As always I enjoyed your company on another great hike and camp and it pleases me to see Nathan has got the mountain bug. Once again thanks for a great time in those fantastic hills and have a great time with Pete. Take care till the next time. Mick.
@ScotsWildcamper7 жыл бұрын
Ditto mate always great to get out with you , good to have someone who knows where your going.... i don't know where i'm starting from half the time lol. I think Nathan will stick with the mountains , of course women will get in the way. A tough but enjoyable hike in a great part of Britain. Yeah another night and decent weather i'm sure we would have got Angels peak done anyway. See you in Feshie or defo in the Cheviots , i'll make that a priority trip for next year.Team up with Paul and Sinclair if they can make it. ATB MATE ! p.s. whats the name of the band you had on ?

Looked a great walk and lucky to get set up before the heavy rain started. I know what you mean, with the path looking a bit out of place, with the surroundings but I love to be able to take in all the scenery without constantly having to watch me feet. The bolderfield looked canny scary mind, bit of an ankle breaker and shame you could not by pass it on the way back. Enjoyable watch, thanks for sharing it. Cheers Alan

Dont know why but Wilco is not a fan of they paths, I think they are great to be honest, More so on the walk back when you are knackered :)) Cheers for showing this one Eddie, peter.

I think Nathan would have stayed in the tent had it melted he'd had enough of the midges lol. Angels peak and Cairn Toul looked inviting TBH , i guess you'll be camping/bothying its a bloody long walk in to do the munros and walk out again. Does anyone do that lol?

Only the super fit, Or mega daft(like me) ha ha. Great expedition here Eddie!! Apart from the dismal weather later on ... very envious! Did this one myself in ... ah ... 1995 though without the wildcamp then. Still amazed about the changes, the better paved paths for instance [7:59]. Imagine the boulders of Chalamain Gap and especially the boulderfield behind it, without any path then. LOL! Good to see you wisely keep your own pace notwithstanding the Nathan&Mick-rocket. Had a good laugh at Mick trying to incinerate tent & sausage by the way. And loved your comments all the way!
@ScotsWildcamper7 жыл бұрын
Wilco de Jonge Thanks Wilco if we had another day we would have tried a munro.Nathan is a rocket lol , i usually start 100 metres behind everyone else due to vlogging but i go my own pace i'm very happy to be last i would probably outlast alot of people. Its a wild place as it is and not easy walking so it must have been harder in 95. Have a fantastic time when your here. p.s. thankfully no damage to Micks tent , be hard to fit 3 in the Soulo LOL !!
@WilcodeJonge7 жыл бұрын
First priority will be - and has been for a time now - to walk the same 3 Munros Eddie. Although I'll walk in from the Glen Feshie & aim for a 2-nighter at he lochan one mile SW of Cairn Toul. Now for the weather!
