Making teddy accept spencer back was one of the worst things disney ever did.

even as a TEN YEAR OLD i was disgusted with how Spencer was trying to pressure Teddy into choosing him, meanwhile Beau was so understanding and just wanted Teddy to be happy

For me, cheating is the ultimate deal breaker. No amount of development would be able to repair that relationship. You can change and develop for the next girl.

We also don't see Spencer apologize to Skyler, nor get any confirmation that he ever apologized to her. Spencer really was a prick.

So what I’m taking from this is Ivy is far and away the best character.

I'll always maintain that Beau was the better choice for Teddy, and I'm still salty that they made her choose Spencer, who literally cheated on her, over him.

The saddest part is that this could’ve been a great lesson for teens who’s partner cheated on them. As this is the only example of this I can think of in Disney Channel. But Spencer did nothing to prove himself as trustworthy to Teddy. The main reason he got her back is because he wouldn’t leave her alone. What’s the lesson there? If you cheat on your partner… stalk them??? Yikes big yikes…

It's wild to me also how Teddy ignores how completely disrespectful to Skylar it is for Spencer to keep calling his relationship to her a huge mistake. I feel like I wouldn't be able to get past the fact that we're now in a position where we have to completely trash and disregard the other girl's very real feelings in order to make it work for us.

Spencer was the guy who couldn't take no for an answer and was visibly upset when things didn't go his way! He basically took advantage of Teddy.

One thing I am glad about though is that Disney didn’t use the trope of “girls that were dating a cheater hate each other instead of hating the cheater” bc that’s fairly common and doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m glad they made Teddy and Skyler friends and had them take out their anger on the person who deserves it.

i HATED that spencer would just conveniently be EVERYWHERE. the skii trip, battle of the bands, super adventure land, the "abercrombie" store, etc etc. just shoving him in our faces (and Teddy's). i remember being so pissed off all throughout season 2 😭

Spencer always went for the kiss every chance he got, which kind of rubbed me the wrong way because it has been referenced as a way to get her to “shut up” and it just felt like kissing was a replacement for emotional intimacy. Beau kisses Teddy on the cheek first. And he told the truth about his lie about having made up his excuse to ask her out. Spencer always had to be forced to tell the truth (because he was caught lying).

That was amazing to me. She should’ve stayed with beu and continue to have a happy, healthy relationship instead of going back to the pig.

It would be so nice if Disney did a spinoff of Good Luck, Charlie, with the original actress all grown up and using the advice Teddy gave her - the video she watches would always be strangely relevant to what's happening to her. Maybe she could be in college, away from her family, and that's why she brought the videos with her. Or even boarding school.

Spencer was legit toxic cuz he first cheats on teddy, then lies about it and then comes crawling back the next season. I also didn’t like how they handled Skylar. They start her off as teddy’s friend but they abandon that completely and make her PJ’s girlfriend like what?

I think the reason why Teddy always takes back Spencer is because she always hears how her parents are high school sweethearts, which comes off as the perfect love story that she wants. One thing I noticed about Spencer is how emotionally dependent he is on Teddy, and he constantly emotionally manipulates her as he tells her what to feel and is always expecting an answer on whether they can date again, which is disgusting, in my opinion. Also, I'm not too fond of Spencer's speech in the episode after he cheated on Teddy because we don't know if Spencer said the same thing to Skylar or any other girl Spencer might have seen while dating Teddy. If I were in this situation, I would've never talked to him again and told him to leave me alone because he was disrespectful. Because my parents taught me to have value in myself and if someone broke my heart the way Spencer did, then they were not worth my time; something similar happened to my mother with her first boyfriend, which ended up with the other girl getting pregnant and tried to get her back but was firm and told him to back off. Especially with everyone in Teddy's life, don't make it a secret their dislike of him; while I understand it is Teddy's life, and she can make a choice, it would've been nice for Teddy to consider their advice before getting back together. I am still hoping one day, Disney will give us a healthy relationship; I mean, we can still have some drama for entertainment, but it would be nice to see a couple in a healthy relationship for the younger audience to see and understand what an excellent relationship looks like, but who knows in the end.

Yeah, this ship was pretty much garbage but this whole video just reminded me how good the show actually was overall - I want to rewatch it now, honestly. The acting is there, and there are some pretty great emotional moments, as well as some downright hilarious moments. I remember being so sad every time I watched PJ and Skylar's breakup episode, like those two had so little screentime but their relationship was written so well that I cared about it to a great extent, and I was so happy about them getting back together later on. Also, PJ is the best boyfriend in the show, I said it - they really gave him a love so much more worth caring about (on his end) than Spencer was worth Teddy's care, and all his moments where he shows his love for Skylar are just so sweet. One thing I am actually upset about, and probably the only one lol, is Ivy and Raymond having their breakup offscreen, cause I honestly find them so cute, too. Oh, well.

I hate this storyline because they could've sent out such a good message to kids about learning to move on after someone hurts you and comforting your feeling on how that made you feel but instead they it feels like she forgets she got cheated on so quickly. They could've done so much to show what it was like for someone to heal after getting cheated on but it seems like Teddy didn't even really care. Like you don't have to forgive someone, you don't owe it to them, especially when they something like that to you!

With as much fighting as the siblings do in the series (not knocking it, it’s realistic) it’s great when they show how much they care about one another. The thing that upsets me the most is that they ended Teddy and Beau's storyline by making him act completely out of character. The whole thing about him being too much into bug stuff and too much like her dad is so forced especially because during their date he had said to her that he likes her dad but he really tells too much bug story. Also, when Beau was first introduced it was said that the reason he took the job was so that he could pay for his education, hinting at bigger goals he had, him going back home to work as an exterminator as if this was what he had always wanted is just completely out of the blue because it goes against everything that was established when we were first introduced to the character. They ruined Beau's character in order to give the idea that he "clearly" wasn't right for Teddy and that is - from a technical perspective - poor storytelling and bad writing

Last one: i am glad they made skylar and teddy friends. I respected the hell out of skylar when she poured the smoothie on him because this showed she did not know and she was not malicious. There are some mistresses who do know someone is in a relationship and will still date the person in hopes they will leave their partner. But she did not do this and i like how supportive they are with each other which subverts the trope of the two girls being mean and competitive towards each other. It is women supporting women.

When I would watch these shows, I always thought the "one month anniversary" or "10 monthaversary" were genuine things that kept a relationship together. However, being in a near 10 month relationship now it's kind of confusing. To be fair, I am an adult now. But when me and my partner realize how long we've been together we're just like "Really? Huh. Cool."

Teddy & Beau were perfect and it's a travesty that they weren't endgame. I have a feeling that she only ended up with Spencer because the actors were dating in real life. I always felt that that kind of thing was an excuse for trash writing, and more often than not, leads to poor performances; real life couples rarely have any chemistry when they're playing characters.

The one thing about Beau leaving that I am okay with is I'm glad they didn't make her just follow her parents. This may have been the one time it would have worked, but with Modern Family ruined and Wizards almost, I'm kinda glad this show didn't also go that route.

also what's creepy to me is that Spencer tells Teddy he CAME TO SEE HER at Ski resort. He told her he came to talk to her which sounds like goddamn stalking to me. or even if he was there first/too he purposfully came to talk to her a couple of times. It might sound paranoid but at that moment I'd start to wonder if HE isn't behind the psychic lady. Or at least if he didn't overhear her 'prediction' and decided to 'radnomly' run into me to make it seem like fate.
