Vader kills Jedi out of hatred (because how the council treated him, etc.), Cal kills out of survival, but on the dark side out of fear (scared of not catching bode in time during the chase) and out of anger (for what the empire and bode did). So again... What's the difference on the light side?

@@netrox0072the difference is that this is a video game and everyone wants to go around swinging their lightsaber like a one man army badass, so the developers didn’t take the time to flesh out the nuance of light vs dark. The difference is supposed to be something like “a Jedi will look for an alternate while a Sith will just power through,” but that requires two different styles of gameplay.

The best way to describe the dark side is that it’s like a drug. First time you use it, you reach Cere’s level in power immediately, an quick but brief shortcut to brutal and violent power. But just one taste of this bloodshed is all it takes for you to become addicted. Leading you down a terrifying path that’s destroying you. It’s not more powerful than the light, it just gets you to your peak faster, but with devastating consequences on yourself. A Jedi could do all the stuff we’re seeing Cal do here (hell, we literally see Cere do it and stand her ground against freaking Darth Vader), but they consciously choose not to, it’s like how Spider-Man COULD turn every villain into a red paste with a single punch but chooses not to. But with the dark side, you reach that level much faster but it’ll eat away at you until you are no longer the person you used to be. As we saw with Anakin and Cal, the dark side can turn good hearted individual into a violent sadistic killing machine. But with the light side, it’ll take you longer to reach that level with hard work, time, and training. But once you get to that level, you can unleash this full power with zero consequences. We see with Cere how she busts out her power when she needs to and easily manages to absolutely butcher hundreds of stormtroopers, purge troopers, dropships, and even walkers to the point where only a Sith Lord could beat her. Does this make sense?

@@theparrishshow9803 zero consequences? No. A Jedi killing a bunch of living beings will not have zero consequences, no matter how much discipline they've been through. Mace Windu was always on the cusp of falling to the Dark Side. He was only just barely able to pull himself back every time. If he had murdered Palpatine, that would have been the tipping point. Even Yoda was on the cusp of falling several times. The thing about the temptation of the Dark Side is that it doesn't go away, even if you're a Master. That's why the Jedi Code is so strict. That's why the Jedi lost the Clone Wars. Had the Jedi been as ruthless and bloodthirsty as the Sith, they would have defeated the Separatists and killed Count Dooku and Palpatine easily.

@@theparrishshow9803 Makes perfect sense. The long path to power brings the Jedi wisdom. Thats probably why they appear so "weak". Wisdom means opting not to fight unless forced to, and even when fighting, it means holding back and only unleashing as much of your power (or skill when putting it into realistic terms, for example with martial artists when faced with a street fight) as you NEED for the situation. Meanwhile... On the other side... The Sith just unleash relentless merciless power with no regards for life whatsoever. So they appear so much more menacing and powerful than a Jedi usually would. I wish we would be able to see this more often in the movies. A Jedi's full show of power. Thankfully we got to see it with Cere. It felt amazing to control her in Jedha. So much power. Hope to see it in Cal in the third game as well, if he manages to remain away from the dark side.

"Is the Dark side stronger?" "No, Quicker, easier, more seductive." The dark side is naturally geared towards fighting which is why it often has to be fought from within, because that desire to fight can be a dangerous one in any form.

Totally agree! Also, I find it harder to fight tougher enemies once they start moving when using the dark side slow. Screen is a little obscure.

They don't my man, the game gives you the dark side tap permanently. They begin the road to grey jedi by having him control his anger, while still utilise it. The game is significantly better when it comes to emotion than others.

many Jedi were arrogant purists, especially Guardians (Blue lightsaber, primarily combat focused) and Consular's (Green Lightsaber, diplomat's, focused on meditation, mediation, and studying the deeper mysteries of the force. Sentinels however were a different breed. they were pragmatic. more combat focused then a Consular but more diplomatic then a guardian. they were also known to study and utilize skills other Jedi frowned upon. they were often pilots, mechanics, hackers, etc. they tended to have underworld contacts, were not afraid to bend, or break the law when needed. and unlike most Jedi? they would use a blaster when the situation called for it. the problem was that the council was mostly full of consulars. they disdained Guardians and seemed to outright HATE Sentinels. they also were diehard followers of the New Code which preached total absence of all emotion. the consulars actively dissuaded padawans from taking the Guardian path, and pushed the Sentinels to the brink of extinction. the irony is, with just a dozen more sentinels, and several more guardians? the Jedi may have had many more members survive the purge. but yeah, most jedi were purists when it came to combat. force powers and rigid adherence to the Lightsaber forms... except for Form VII as that was viewed as a Sith form. any deviation was discouraged heavily, if not outright punished. i would place Cal as a Pure Sentinel class Knight at this point.

@@redpapa859 not to disagree, but you clearly have not read a lot of the expanded universe content if that is your thought process. In many of the stories? The jedi were arrogant. So assured of their skill with the force and their lightsaber, they never bothered to learn anything else. Many younger jedi did in fact suggest trying something new. But the older generation refused to hear it. Claiming, in the words of obi-wan, it was too uncivilised. Some jedi were exactly as you describe. But most of the council? They wanted to maintain the status quo, and refused anything that would change that. Its one of the biggest reasons the order fell. They had become arrogant.

It just speaks volumes of how stupid the rules between the "light" and the "dark" have become. Used to be that the "light side" was just the default and the "dark side" was an unnatural corruption, Jedi followed a specific doctrine and grey Jedi were just Jedi who didn't follow the doctrine. Now the light and dark are two sides of the same coin, you can just swap sides when you want, and grey Jedi are le epic force centrists who get all the powers (but are somehow still good).

You're just reading too much of people's fanfiction about how Star Wars works. Cal dipped into the dark side, then was talked down and became a light sider again just like how Anakin dipped into the dark a few times and was able to be brought back before he fully turned.

the orignal star wars games for the old republic were the shit, Darth revan saga was probably some of the best SW games we got that gave you choice
