"Gabriel isn't good at defending wide" and Potts let him get away with it. Stuff like this is why I don't rate a Lotta AFTV affiliated content creators ball knowledge. Which CF or winger has cooked Gabriel out wide like where tf has this narrative?come from? Did yall see Gabi vs Salah in 22/23 at Anfield or his peformaces vs Halaand last season? He clamped them down. I'm not even being insecure but this is bullshxt

Dan has a history of doing this. He never defends our players. Always sits there and let's rivals get away with spewing some of the worst drivel about our players. Someone will say "Ben White is shit" Dan sits there. Face full. Goes in one ear, goes in the other. Doesn't react. "Gabriel is awful at defending the channels"- literally his best attribute - Dan sits there..face full. Get off it! I hear you bro, it's annoying how these AFC content creators always shrivel when rivals enter. Our fanbase needs a whole revisit of our we value and evaluate our players. You'd think 2 seasons straight challenging would click in some people's minds. Clearly we have to remind them again this season and snatch their chains.

@@Mago_7 bruv and like I know rivals or some cuck Arsenal fan gonna probably turn up and accuse us of being insecure about our players but we have to call out what we see otherwise false narratives that were relevant like 3 years ago still stick in 2024. The Ben White "can't defend/got moved from CB coz he ain't good" also makes me sick because he's clamped and limited the likes of Diaz Doku Foden last season at Etihad Gnabry at the Emirates didnt dribble past him, etc. As you rightly pointed out it's ridiculous how some of the AFTV guys especially the negative or "realistic" guys pander to rivals and only back players once the quality is staring you at your face and yet allow these players of other clubs who have no where near the scrutiny to be propped up over ours. Case in point Calafiori vs Gabi. It's the Young Italian lad's breakout season and people are already making outrageous claims where as Gabi had to have a near flawless 2nd half of 22/23 & imperious 23/24 to even get recognizedd as one of the top CBs in Europe and and still they shit on his strongest attribute(wide channel commanding) 🤦🏾‍♂️

man city have ake, akanji, stones,diaz, gvardiol, walker and rico lewis in their back line...why cant arsenal have timber, tomiyasu, saliba, gabriel, ben white and calafiori?

GM6 is not going anywhere! He’s our Key CB even over Saliba or equal, NOT less. The previous season when Saliba got injured, GM6 played huge amount of games and Arteta rested him at the start. People read all sorts of senseless theories into it. This season, both GM6 Saliba will need to be rested for at least 5 games, otherwise with the amount of minutes including the Euros, especially Saliba, it could get ugly quickly. So Calafiori will rotate with Saliba. We haven’t had that quality to substitute Saliba. GM6 is a beast! People think Arteta will discard GM6 at such a crucial stage of a defenders age of maturity over a youthful exuberant 22 yo unproven in our system and the league Wow! Guys are having fun with drinks here😮LOL

Honestly us fans should glorify this. If it does mean him and gabriel share games then good. Because for the past two seasons saliba and Gabriel have played together, it’s inevitable that one of them gets injured this season so for Calafiori to step in is a master stroke. We can only be ever so strong. I’m happy about this signing

I agree 💯 with Staffy Calafiori will not plqy left back. Besides Timber is an absolute balle at that left back in fact Timber before the ACL was arguably our best defender. I personally rate Timber next to Saliba

Calafoiri isn't coming in to replace anyone. He's coking in to provide cover and more importantly, competition. Arteta has already shown time and time again that no position is safe. Competition is healthy across the team as it means every player has to be at their best to make the starting 11. Calafoiri is an excellent defender, just check on youtube how he easily disposed of Osimhen.

Hi Panel I am a coach for a Academy I been watching Carafiori since 18 years trust me guys he will be Arsenal best defender 1st and 2nd watch bologna vs Juventus last season please 🙏 panel and 3rd he scored 2 Amazing goals bologna where winning 3-0 Carafiori got replaced after that Juventus drew 3-3. Carafiori plays like Nesta and Sergio Ramos

Zinchenko is GOING NOWHERE! Arteta loves what he brings to the team, on and off the pitch. He’s untouchable. Eze is NOT coming. That’s a player who’s nowhere near ESR10 at his best, and Arteta has been sharpening and weaponising ESR10 and preparing him for this coming season. There’s was no space for him, after the injury the level was too high for him to catchup in time. Arteta knew it’ll take several games to catch up with the rest of the team; you don’t have experimental games if you’re chasing Pep Guardiola City! That’s the only reason ESR10 wasn’t rushed back in. Forget this lousy lazy talk about him being poor blaaag blaaah! Eze better than ESR10 😮what! Lol

All these years and Gabriel is STILL this under rated by rivals. Btw Gabriel was benched due to the Saudi interest, not for tactical reasons. Also, why is it so hard to believe the Cala signing is for tactical and rotation reasons. Why does everyone want 4 players in the back line and that's it? We need subs and depth. As a rule, unless it's United, do not listen to staffy takes, just goes for the most niche opinion. Further to Henry stating 'I remember more Gabriel mistakes last season that Saliba' isn't true. Saliba made more mistakes, and more mistakes leading to goals than Gabriel. All you're remembering is mistakes when Gabriel played alongside inferior CB's and they were around 2 years ago now when the 'bozo' tag got brought up, and the ta followed him. Peoples opinions are not a reflection of him as a player today.

Calafiori played 3 euro games and scored a own goal and got suspend for the last game. Had a knee operation in the past and more injures? Hasn't played left back for 2 years and is on 12 thousand a week. People go on like his the next best thing he could be a Mike Bassett England manager signing injured all the time? He is not better than timber who got man of the match in the chariot shield against city, Dlomande defender sporting Lisbon would be a better defender than calafiori, we need a striker and strengthen our midfield more than we need calafiori
