Calculating an Arc Length Parameterization by Hand

5 жыл бұрынIn this video we calculate an arc length parameterization by hand. It's a specific set of steps that you follow: find an arc length function, find its inverse, substitute it in. Finding the arc length function tends to be a little annoying, but not too tough!

Could you explain how you did the integral to check the answer?

The TI-Nspire CAS has a built-in function for finding the magnitude of a vector, it's called norm(). So I found the derivative of the vector valued function, then found its norm, then integrated that. (This is probably not a good explanation...!)

@@turksvids yeah I have the CAS, and I have an answer to a similar question but I don't know if it's right...
