Calgary police seize firearms, manufactured 3D-printed gun in raid

Күн бұрынThe Calgary Police Service say one 3D-printed gun and several of 3D-printed firearm parts were seized from four Calgary area homes last week as part of an operation to bust illegal gun manufacturers.

probably 90 % of printed guns and accessories were for airsoft guns that fire plastic bbs and run on green gas or propane as the propellent?

silencers aren't silent, don't sound like pew pew in the movies, and you can still hear the gun, the shooter just doesn't need ear protection. why fear the gun? it's not a gun crime, its people on people crime

This goes to show how pointless gun control is. Even without a 3D printer, guns can be made from hardware store components. These 3d printed guns are relatively complex considering open bolt SMGs are the easiest to manufacture.

You can make a regular gun from home depot, a chop shop w/ furnace, and fireworks.

I 3d print, I also shoot. A 3d printed gun will explode in your hand and you will be missing several fingers as a result. The way the plastic is printed in layers is inherently weak in 1 direction, the plastic itself is also not strong either. it cannot handle the pressure of the expanding gassed nor the force of recoil when firing. This is a non issue.

You're not lying in which case you are stupider than a goldfish (context, marketing for a filament does not change the fact that PLA has the lowest tensile strength of any 3d printing filament and 100% infill does not change the inherent weakness between layers. Furthermore, unless you are a licensed firearms manufacturer(highly unlikely given your PLA claims), you have just posted on a CBC comment board that you are printing illegal firearms, A crime punishable up to 10 years in prison.)

3D printed firearms work quite well, but just for clarification, the majority of what is referred to as a 3D printed guns is a printed receiver since that's the regulated part, and in most places in America, the rest can be bought online. A part like the barrel would explode if made of plastic so it's typically a standard manufactured barrel or made from hardware parts.

@@Lando3249meh. a kwc platform 1911 + elbow grease + gsg or AA .22 L/R conversion kit makes for a much smarter looking gun that probably cycles a wee bit better when clean and greased/lubed properly.
