Met and married my Wife at Point Dume in Malibu slightly south of where you camped and we are still together since 1980,It is a good luck place.

Watching this sure brings memories back to Me. With those old Chevy's, Yup! No key needed! Think it was 1960 when Keys needed. Also the room to working on Engine, not like now, remove this, remove that..Oh! there's the engine. These were definitely the good ole days & things were also MADE TO LAST!!

wow, memories of the 1960 's , With our family in 1964 Dad getting transfered to Mississippi, From Auburn Wash. The 1958 4 door Chevy spun a crank bearing . Had to buy a new 1964 9 passenger Chevy wagon. All 5 kids Mom, and Dad . Headed down the Califorina Coast.

We're gonna party like it's 1959. Yeah

When I was two in '62 my Dad and Mom loaded up the '59 Ford Fairlane and the trailer just like Roxy here with us kids. We headed out to the beach at Gaviota State Park up above Santa Barbara and set up camp for a few days. My Dad took a picture of me setting up on the bed in back with a red bandana tied around my head and placed bongo drums in my lap so I could wail on them. With his over-sized dark sunglasses on my face he called me a beatnik. The best of times it was.

5:45 just listen to that old 265 purr. It sounds low on gas tho~ I had a 55 Chevy pickup with a 265. It was so dependable . About the vehicle length at the beach.. Well they did not mention inches so you just have to report the 31 feet.. Right ;-) Ha Ha.. We were driving on that same spot in 1956, in a brand new 1956 Ford two-tone green, station wagon! We live on PCH in Malibu ! I went to Juan Cabrillo Elementary School just above Zuma Beach!

You didnt need funnels back then because what the oil came in. Actual cans & you had a metal spout that would punch a hole in the top & work as a funnel.

I found your channel with the van purchase and subscribed, which got me interested when I saw what else you do. I have been following a channel for a while called "Flying Sparks Garage" and they are so similar to you guys. They have all sorts of projects going with an assortment of vehicles of different eras. Nothing from '56 though which is my boomer era. It seems to be a new "fad" to leave the rust on instead of expensive restorations. (I had a '56 Plymouth which I never once changed the oil on, just added a quart of cheap bulk oil weekly... 🙄 It would still smoke the tires while leaving an oil cloud though.)

Back in 1974 my aunt had a sticker on her ice box that said eat more beans because America needs gas
