Jose Feliciano live in Berlin DDR in 1987 with Berliner simphoniker
Jose recorded this song for his Hit LP "Feliciano!" in 1968 and became b-side of the million record single "Light Mu Fire". In 2019 Quentin Tarantino selected this Jose Feliciano classic for his movie "once upon a time in hollywood" and part of the double CD of Soundtrack:
immediately the song is the most downloaded of the entire soundtrack in all world stores

From Lares, Puerto Rico to the world. He’s just fantastic! Criticized for performing the USA national anthem in 1968 WS , game 5 with a SOUL style. Now these days everybody sing it using any style. He was a pioneer. Great artist! Excellent singer! Incredible human being!

My God, this man is criminally underrated... I feel like most people only know him because of "Feliz Navidad." He's performed plenty of incredible covers and an abundance of original material. I'm happy we still have him around.

It is indeed why I am here. I just saw the film hours ago. Incredible soundtrack, but this one had me just mesmerized. Could not wait to come here and listen again. One of my favorites from my childhood, but he kicks the hell out of it in this version. Beautiful. What a film, what music.

Today I was drawing a portrait of Marilyn Monroe while listening to the soundtrack of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and this song came on. The sun was shining on me through the window and I got the most amazing goosebumps... Like the universe saying... "You're on the right track." Awesome stuff... Jose's version is THE BEST.... 😊💗

I love JF's version - especially how he states - I got down on my bended knee and I began to pray - vs Mamas and Papas (and I pretend to pray) - such a great song and those Berlin strings behind him - just amazing - makes you so proud of America and Jose and everything he has done

I saw José Feliciano at the Davenport theatre in Stockport in the 1970s he had a guide dog ( a smooth collie called Trudy). He was absolutely fabulous, and so was Trudy :)

If you haven't seen Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, check it out. Part of this song is in it. Really great scenes with his music, and a really great movie - - particularly if you have any memories of the late 60's (like me).
