This is a very nice piece of music. It is featured in The British Campaign: Pegasus Bridge Day Mission in Call Of Duty, it was featured in the American Campaign: Neuville in Call Of Duty: United Offensive, and it was also featured as the introduction music in Call Of Duty: Finest Hour.

I feel childish but the Pegasus Bridge Mission was mine and my father's favourite mission, and we alternated playing it, watching eachother trying to survive the final assault, sometimes in the bunker, sometimes near the flak88. Now that my father is dead, listening to this masterpiece makes me cry. Those were really good times.

"Mother, a few days ago we waved the flag of the Motherland over the top of the Reichstag in Berlin. The war, at last, seems to be coming to an end. There is very little fighting left in the enemy. Soon I will be returning to our home. There are German prisoners of war everywhere. Today, I crossed the Elbe River in Germany and shook hands with an American soldier. Although I could not understand anything he said, I felt this man was my brother... and I think he felt the same." - Sgt Alexei Ivanovich Voronin in a letter to his mother after the Soviet victory in Berlin, April 1945.

I was playing this with my dad, then by myself when I had 5 years. So played Call of Duty 1, 2 and Modern Warfare back then. Now I have 15 years old playing new CoD games, but in the same time I have nostalgia for the old days of this franchise. Also Pegasus Bridge and MoHAA Main Theme are the best soundtracks ever created in video games for me.

Why didn't Call of Duty continue down this road? It started out as a series that honored the sacrifices of those who had fought in WW2, but then it became a series that glorified and normalized this sort of warfare. Now every mission needs to be a Michael Bay movie condensed into 15 minutes. I suppose the money really went to their heads. Sad.

Anyone remember these days. I remember storming Red Square as the Russians, Taking the bridge for the British, Holding off against swarms of tanks and infantry in a half destroyed hotel as the Americans... Those where the days, no last min plot twist, no nuclear attack. When you played you fought to the last man and in that brief moment when all hope was lost. All faith had faded, you where saved by allied forces and you would win in one glorious final standoff for your life.

When I was fighting on that bridge, fighting alongside the so few British glider troops who were fighting against the so many German infantry and tanks, I didn't know if we'd make it out alive. I didn't know if we'd live to see the next day. I didn't know if we'd fail, or if we'd succeed. I didn't know if they were going to overrun us easily, or if we'd put up hell of a fight. I didn't know if they'd crush us with their steel panzers, or if we'd open them up like the tin cans they were. I didn't know if any of these men would go back to England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, wherever they came from. I didn't know if any of these men would go back to see their families again. I didn't know if we were going to hold out when we were pushed across the bridge. I didn't know if we were going to hold out when they came from all directions. I didn't know if we were going to hold out when they had tanks coming from the north, south, east, west, you name it. I didn't know if we were going to hold out when we were forced into such a small defensive space in the bunker. I didn't know if I would be shot by a German, or blown up by a Tiger. But then. Then I heard this music. And I knew. I *KNEW* that we *WERE* going to live to see the next day. I *KNEW* that we *WERE* going to succeed. I *KNEW* that we *WOULD* put up hell of a fight. I *KNEW* that we *WERE* going to open their panzers like the tin cans they were. I *KNEW* that these men *WOULD* go back to England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, or wherever they came from. I *KNEW* that these men *WOULD* see their families again. I *KNEW* that we *WERE* going to hold out when we were pushed across the bridge. I *KNEW* that we *WERE* going to hold out when they came from all directions. I *KNEW* that we *WERE* going to hold out when they had tanks coming from the north, south, east, west, you name it. I *KNEW* that we *WERE* going to hold out when we were forced into such a small defensive space in the bunker. I *KNEW* that I *WOULDN'T* be shot by a German, or blown up by a Tiger. I *KNEW* that we *WERE* going to make it out alive. Because then. Then reinforcements came. And then they pushed those Germans right back to where they came from. Back over the bridge. Back to the north, south, east, west, you name it. Back from all directions. And we lived. We lived through what seemed like impossible odds. We lived through countless attacks from armor and infantry alike. And what did we have? We had a few glider troops, and that's it. Oh. And a hell of spirit. Can't forget that. We answered when we were called to duty. I guess you could say we answered the call. *The Call of Duty.*

Been so much years since this game.....the music.....the gameplay......the enjoyment of a truly good FPS WW2 single player campaign , Thank you Infinity Ward and good bye as well. This was my childhood , my first time touching FPS games , I shall never forget the moments. 2019/4/29.

OMFG, I miss the old Call of Duty. I spent hundreds of hours playing this campaign and multiplayer. The game series has definitely evolved for sure... It has come a long way =). This is a great piece, I will never forget this part of the game.

"Mother, a few days ago, we waved the flag of the motherland over the top of the Reichstag in Berlin. The war, at last, seems to be coming to an end. There is very little fighting left in the enemy, soon I will be returning to our home. There are German prisoners of war, everywhere. Today, I crossed the Elbe river in Germany, and shook hands with an American soldier. Although I could not understand anything he said, I felt this man was my brother, and I think he felt the same." Call of Duty is one of the greatest FPS games I have ever played, even after playing nearly every other game in the series (Every game after this except CoD 3). Makes me sad that not many people talk about it nowadays :(

This really does show the lack of hope and despair that you face on this mission but it also accurately conveys the relief when you're told reinforcements are arriving. This song is really really great.

So true. It so much felt like "Ok, my character is going to die soon, scripted death" and then...when it's over and you still live, you're amazed at the games directors skill to make you feel like before and it feels like you've won a small war.

I just began playing Call of Duty games recently, starting with COD1. I have finished all the games on Steam up to Black Ops 2 (except the expansion packs), and as much as I like the HD games from COD4 Modern Warfare, I still think the original games are seriously underrated masterpieces. The worst part is that most COD players nowadays may have forgotten, or perhaps don't even know, that Call of Duty was originally made to remember those who fought and died in WWII.

This is still the best game in history! I really miss the good old day’s playing this... this game made me think about what happend in that war, this game made me give so much respect to all the people who died in that war and this game made me feel how it was back then... no game could ever give me that feeling like this game does..If I could I would really turn back time back when this game is popular! I enjoyed EVERY second playing this game. This is the only game with a perfect storyline and is fun to play! God i miss this game... I will never forget this game and will be in my heart forever.
