I drove a 396 Kingswood Estate Wagon in HS while my Mach 1 motor was being rebuilt. Even with a puny 2 barrel and single exhaust it had tons of torque and really moved. Always liked the 396, my buddies SS\RS Camaro was a beast. I am sure this one will be too.

ZIGgassedUP Ive always put them in dry but i did watch a vid where they did that and im sure it would help and not hurt. These did go in a little hard but the cam was nice and smooth so there in strait.

If you put a new cam in a motor that has 5000 mile on it would you put new barriings in it? I do a lot of repair but dont get into the motors much. Thanks

Jeremiah johnson If you have the motor out and there was any kind of bearing failure like a rod or main i woulds replace them or at least inspect them.

Thumbs up buddy .Didnt catch the difference for a 67 block ?.
@scottsinfl9 жыл бұрын
Mordoor 53 The 67 and up rear cam bearing journal has a indent or groove all the way around the the out side of where the bearing go's in the block. On the 65-66 it is solid and need's a mod on the bearing or they make a bearing with the groove built into it. I hope I explained it rite.
