Terrific video. I just received my 396 from the machine shop. I will use the marking pen trick. Thanks from Brazil.

Thanks for the video! Is it possible to do all the bearings without dropping the crank? I have gen 7 8.1s on my boat with tons of room Infront and behind it to pull cam, and use the puller/install tool. Is it possible for me to do this? Appreciate it

Thanks for watching! Yes you should be able to do all of the cam bearings without dropping the crank. Just be sure you have the oil holes in the correct spot and you should be good to go!

@@moonshineperformance9135 awesome! I think I'll start a channel for boat maintenance and repairs when I start it! It's getting a lot harder to find people to work on gas boats

Do you lubricate the bearing surfaces before installing? And can you install from the front, rather than the rear?

You will lubricate the cam before installing so there is no need for lubricating the bearing right now. And yes you can install them from either end of the block. Just make sure you install them in the correct orientation with the oil holes and that they are centered in each bore. Good questions!

Why epoxy the freeze plugs??

That way you guarantee yourself from ever having to try and replace one in the car. Just a good way to hold them in tight.
