With every video the parts look so good it is easy to forget this was such an old piece of equipment.

It was a real rusty dirty mess when I first brought it home. I'm really happy with the transformation. Thanks!

This was a really good video. Love the sign. You are really turning this old drill press into a work of art. Looks amazing. Great job Matt. Buy a flyswatter and kill that bug. 😅

Great video. It's gonna be a monster of a tool when it's done. Been fascinating to watch it come together again. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

Great progress on the drill project Matt. Sounds like you have motor drive figured out. Balance is a real concern to keep in mind. Good luck with the motor. Thanks and take care

Matt - My Canedy-Otto camelback uses the concept you are talking about with a frame and the motor mounted to the side of the pulley. The drill press is really starting to look good. Can't wait to see the first chips.

Gotta love nature. At least you don't have the birds flying in your shop looking for nesting places. Don't worry I can't wrap a pretty present either.

Oh they have tried but so far I have thwarted them. Good to know someone else besides me is gift wrap challenged 😂

Looks good Matt! Keep in mind, if you're cart is as wide and as long.. or a little bigger.. it should be fine 🤞

That's the plan. Time to start sketching it up.

Nothing wrong with your hearing when a little-bitty bug gets your attention. Getting closer to the finish line. I think the motor position will be dictated by the direction of its rotation. Some of those old motors are reversible just by shifting the brush plate. Can't wait to see what you find with it. Looking Good!

Love Nancy's sign, but it's backwards. The tractor should be chasing the zombie.. "Locals eat transplants". Got a few long shank taps, used them for a lot of things, but never a pully🤔

Pulley tap was a new one on me, but common knowledge for machinists.

30 videos all ready , its worth it Matt, its going to be a nice working machine when your done, what shape is the electric motor in ? thanks Matt

The motor is a project. I don't know yet if it can be saved or not but I'm going to give it a go.

If all the years that that machine has been in use, and hasn't ruined the shaft, why are you afraid of it messing up now?
@mattthescrapwhisperer13 күн бұрын

how do you get the belt on the step pulleys? do they come apart?
@mattthescrapwhisperer14 күн бұрын
I fit them in place, then cut them and install the lacing except the through rod. I put the belt back on the pulleys and then install the through rod to lock it in place.
