I couldn't find this video on KZfaq, but I think it needs to be there.

I've never heard any criticism from engineers re. the image quality of the EMI. They could somtimes look a bit de-saturated against the 'in your face' chroma of the Marconi Mk7 but overall they produced by far the best pictures of any camera from the same era.

His hands were certainly flying round that camera like the pro he is, very familiar with the beast, do i remember one of these being used on the golden shot on that crossbow affair?.

I would love to get my hands on one of these cameras, you rarely see them for sale. they were very good cameras too, totally restorable. I think you can still buy the plumbicons for them too, although they are likely to be made in Russia these days

@@dogbreaththe3rd851 yes that is true, but this camera was in use until the 90's, maybe Schofield will sell his as it is just a relic on his mantelpiece

Why not two handle bars on this camera, that is very common on all other cameras?

@@dogbreaththe3rd851 You see years ago people had "Common Sense", Now everything is "Risk Assessed" in case some poor little sweetheart darling trips over a camera cable and needs a plaster on their knee !!

@@dogbreaththe3rd851 You seem to know more about these cameras than I do. Shock hazard, well not if you have the certificate to say you have passed your "Common Sense" examination. I have regularly been inside old school TV sets with 25+ KV inside - use Ski Gloves I did. It works !! Alternatively, keep one hand behind your back at all times. I would just love the opportunity to restore an EMI2001. Head valves for the amplifiers are likely to still be available. I believe some of the early versions of the 2001 were valve on the head inputs and transistor everywhere else. What I would give for a nice 400V B+ line (Valve enthusiasts will know exactly what I mean)
