“Look how quick this goes” after he placed a roofing nail on each beam as a spacer and has to remove each one before putting down the next board

Right! The nail is holding the board it's not spacing anything. This guy should work for Bidens crew of lying scumbags.

Will it work for solid edge azek?

What I'm finding is the PT deck boards need to be bent into position at nearly every joist. There is no way to have a board placed over a long stretch with consistent spacing otherwise.

CAMO has a new tool called Lever. Get a few of these and they will lock your deck boards straight and in place the entire length.

how's that work, were your board already bolted at the other side? what If I prefer to have a tight space in between boards, will it still work? Luther

The Drive tool installs the boards tight. In this installation Joe was using nails as spacers. You can gap the boards to any spacing you would with any other fastening system.

what about the screws you put first to hold the plank? now you have to remove them ...
@daltonbray4498
@daltonbray4498 2 жыл бұрын
I believe you put a spacer between the plank that’s secured already , then from the other side use it to push the new plank into the spacer, camo drive does the rest!

The nails at each joist are the spacers between boards and they act as the backing to hold the board in place while he is edge screwing it in

Why don't you put the screw in the other way so it pushes the board into the other board?

How's it perform with IPE?

I believe Simpson Strongtie sells a stainless screw that is self drilling into Ipe. It’s a plug system as I think.

I haven't seen anything less visible. Uhh... Hmmm.....I guess if it was less visible I wouldn't have seen it?? Anyway it sure looks nicer than screws through the surface and for about the same cost.

@@greghartmann4984 it becomes real visible once the board dries out and the edges start to crack. Or the screw heads snap leaving the deck feeling loose.

I don’t hire anyone that uses Ryobi. If you have one or two for uncommon tools that you use than I can see that. But if it’s for your main tool then I’m going to wonder what other things you cheaped out on.

Not saving too much time since off camera you had to set a nail in each joist as a spacer.
