I always have loved the snow. For me it's the beauty of it on the trees. When I was a kid, I would shovel snow into a big hill and build snow forts. I always loved being outside. Grew up in the country way up north on 12 acres on wooded property. It was amazing. Parents divorced and I lost that piece of heaven. As a young man I kept that passion for the outdoors. Loved hunting all winter, big and small game seasons. When hunting season ended it was usually just driving around. I didn't really start camping and enjoying the outdoors in another aspect until I was 25. I also became a huge science nerd in space and our solar system. When I would camp or deer camp, I would bring my 600x telescope out. Gave me something to do at night other than enjoying the fire. Looking at Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and having no light pollution was amazing. Bringing a telescope for those clear nights in the bush or car camping, it's makes for an amazing night and it also keeps the kids busy too!

Can't do better than An American Werewolf in London. In my opinion, best werewolf movie ever. Great Choice!!!! " Stay on the road. Stay clear of the moors. Beware the moon, Luke." What I like most about the outdoors is that it is honest, indifferent, and nothing is personal. There is a warming comfort in that for me. All year round hunting, camping, and hiking. If I couldn't be a part of that I don't think I could live. It's all I've known and loved since I was a child. Adventure!

I love the stillness in the woods just after a snowstorm. It feels surreal: as if you were the only person living in all that solitude. I just love that sense of remoteness and isolation (in response to your question.)

When my husband and I lived in Mineral Wells, TX, for a couple of years, it snowed in one of the winters--a pretty good storm. We needed to go into town and, being born and raised in New Jersey, my husband was driving carefully, when suddenly, a pickup truck went speeding past us at a high rate of speed. I mentioned, to Mike, that I hoped he wouldn't need to make a turn going at that speed, because he'd never make it!

@toddk1377
@toddk1377 2 жыл бұрын
@@interestingoutdoors8446 It is! My favorite was back 6 years ago I camped in a major blizzard that shut our state down for almost 3 days! We had 16" and 60 mph wind gusts. The drifts in areas was more than 8' deep. Needless to say I intended to camp for a day but the storm made me stay out for 2 days. Luckily I had access to running water from the local stream and enough food! It was great!
@chrisbyars4422

What I like about you and your channel is that when the bottom falls out, you get going. Other people hunker down at home, til the storm passed. You are out there ‘snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug’ in dangerous windchills. How cool is that!? I couldn’t do that. I wouldn’t make it.

my favorite part of the outdoors is pushing yourself beyond the limits you had in your mind for yourself. I've always said the best trips outdoors are the ones where you have that internal dialogue like "why the hell do I keep coming out here?" because you are beating your body up, or freezing, or wet, body is aching. you are downright miserable at times on the trip. those are the best trips because you will always remember them and they make for the best memories and stories to tell. the trips where everything is perfect and nothing bad happens are easily forgotten and you never talk about them at all. there is just something magical about pushing yourself beyond what you thought you could handle. especially when it comes to the outdoors. makes for the best memories and best stories to tell with family and friends. also the best bonding experiences I have ever had. strength and honor!
