Bill Holbert played an entire MLB career without ever hitting a home run. To see just how absurd that really is, I made the worst player you can possibly make in MLB The Show 22 and tried to hit a home run.

The reason the game even gives you the option of having a player being born "At Sea" is because Ed Porray, a guy who only took 4 plate appearances for the Buffalo Buffeds in the short lived Federal League, was born in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, too far from any country's shore to claim. His birth certificate has his birth location simply as At Sea.

Dingus Dingerson was born with three clubfeet, glass bones, and paper-mache skin. At his birth, his parents had to be restrained from throwing him overboard. Instead they abandoned him immediately after reaching port. No orphanage would take him so he was eventually "adopted" by a blind homeless man. He never went to school since no teacher could bare looking at him. When he tried asking a girl out, she died of shock. He was later arrested for public indecency after daring to show his face at the grocery store.

bill holbert isn't even the worst home run hitter of all time: mike mcgreary and dave eggler both hold more at bats (2481 and 2544 respectively) than holbert, and neither of those men have any career home runs either. (although their careers began in 1871 before the creation of the NL so i see why he picked Holbert)

@@eaglesandowls okay do the math, in the 2019 season on average batters got from 129 at bats-323 at bats. Even if you took the highest number 323 and took 2335 and divided it, that is 7.2 MLB seasons for you to hit a single home run. You’re telling me through 7 seasons you won’t have a lick of improvement in your hitting? If you had an average of 215 at bats a season you’re looking at 10 years worth of at bats in the MLB. I’m almost certain in 10 years of being in the best baseball league on the planet you will have ONE home run. The math literally proves that.

Any guy who played competitive baseball as an adult, and had some pop, could hit at least 1 bomb in 7 full seasons, yes. Left field Crawford boxes at Minute Maid, around the Pesky pole at Fenway, right field at Yankee stadium are all getable.

Sucks couldn't make a batter shorter. The record shortest player to ever play a game was St. Louis Browns player, Eddie Gaedel. Who came in at a whooping 3'5" and only weighted a wooping.....60lbs. He got an On Base. In his ONLY game appearance. Shortest Player to ever play. Then, the league decided to write in a rule to make sure this never happened again. Way to go MLB The Show. Had ONE chance. Yet, screwed up to not allow shorter players.
