I love the idea of treating the weather as an additional element of compositions.

Hi @uncle0eric, oh yes, that is often overlooked, but it makes a big difference to the final image. Every tree, every leaf, but also every cloud and lightray are characters in a composition 😊 Have a great Sunday, Christian

Great video! I agree with you I always look at the weather / light and then look at the right composition for the light that you are facing. Downloaded that ebook looking forward to read it! Thank you very much! Grt guido

I’ve always had extremely poor luck with planning landscape photography even with all the modern tools available, and had pretty much resigned myself to working with the conditions as I find them and hoping for inspiration. I’ll look forward to trying the system in your ebook that I downloaded, which I very much appreciate.

Hi Michael, using weather maps is the best way of predicting weather I know. Photrus also uses weather maps, by the way. It does pretty the same, just with even more data and more different maps to get it even more accurate and to overlook less. But for those who prefer a free of charge way, weather maps is a fantastic alternative. I worked for many years with them. I hope you'll like the e-book 😉 Nice greetings, Christian

@@christian.irmler Thank you. I read the document in full, and while it is very informative and beautifully illustrated (with your photos, what else?), I unfortunately found it far too technical and arcane to be of much use. (Seriously, as a lifelong science nerd I find relativity theory considerably easier to follow than this stew of incomprehensible maps, pressure cells, fronts, air packages, etc. etc. etc., and how they combine to form the weather us landscape photographers are looking for.) So I suppose I’ll continue to rely on local forecasts and luck, which is perhaps just the way I’m meant to work. I have no doubt that your document will be of use to those who are more technically-minded, and will remain subscribed to your KZfaq channel for information and inspiration.

@@michaelhall2709 Thank you for you honest feedback, my friend! There is a lot of theory in, for sure, and that is necessary to understand how the weather works and how we can predict it ourselves. But honestly, I tried to keep it as simple as possible, so it is already reduced to the simple essentials 🙂 When I started using weather maps many years ago, I didn't have all that information in a compact form like it is in this e-book, so it took me quite long to get in. I guess, it will also take a while to get in by using my e-book, but definitely much, much shorter than it took me back than. The idea was simply, to offer an accurate solution for those who don't use Photrus and for Photrus users to understand a bit better what happens in the background, what Photrus does, actually. I'm sorry, that you didn't enjoy the e-book. I will definitely go on giving some simple, useful tips also about the weather in my future videos, which should be useful independent on the type of weather prediction you do. Nice greetings, Christian
