Tigertail makes a bearing greaser that you can leave the axles in place. Just take the nut off the axle and slide the greaser in and apply grease. Saves alot of extra work especially in the rear axles.

Great video Rob. I bought one of these tools off EBAY and it arrived in 2 days. Paid $32 but. Going downstairs and will tackle my Outlander Max 1000 and then onto the Max 650. Thanks for putting this video together. On the wheel grease part.......I called our local Can Am dealer and asked if they had a part like this after market greaser. Of course the answer was no. I totally subscribe to the belief that they make some parts to "fail" so that people have to come into the shop and pay the $130+/hrs to do the work for a simple process. Again, awesome video. Time for greasing........lol

Yeah, I called my dealer, and the parts dept didn't know anything about the tool nor could they find it in the computer. I told them to ask the service dept. They knew about it, didn't have one, and said to search online. I suppose you could do this with a needle attachment on the grease gun, and slip it in past the seal. This tools is so much faster, and taking the bearing hub off is pretty simple.

@RobFarrowATV

It's a tight fit without taking the swing arm off. You have to pull the rear diff as far back as it will go and then work the arm and axle at different angles to get it out. Easier to take the swing arm off. Good luck!

Looks pretty straight forward to do this. From Ebay (ala china) the WB Service Tool is $8. Hopefully it is the correct size (30mm) and I can do all my bearings.
@RobFarrowATV

@@RobFarrowATV I am seeing conflicting messages on the size. Can-Am forums say 30mm. Amazon.ca shows 28mm (www.amazon.ca/293350040-Maverick-Commander-Defender-Outlander/dp/B07D3S1XHH). $8 I can lose. What might bother me is that it is coming from China, which can be 2 weeks or 2 months or never. 2 weeks or 2 months and it works, fine. After waiting and it doesn't fit, then I am pissed.

Question, if these are sealed bearings on the newer atv models what is this greasing doing? Just wondering if I need to do this on my 2017 outlander 570, I was told the bearings are sealed so is the grease just getting smushed around In there and performing a function?
@RobFarrowATV

Great video. I had someone tell me by pumping so much grease into a sealed bearing that it's coming out you've just blown the seal. Have you had any issues?
@RobFarrowATV
@RobFarrowATV 5 жыл бұрын
No issues, grease comes out between the seal and the metal insert, not blowing the seal! Not pumping hard enough to damage anything either! Thanks for checking out the vid!
@mcmuskie2563
@mcmuskie2563 2 жыл бұрын
I think once you see it stop. If you keep pumping and pumping you might upset the seal. Some say two pumps is enough, but you can’t trust it unless you see it. Worse case replace the bearings. Once you see grease, stop, Wipe off the excess and your golden..
@hccwarriordan5475
@hccwarriordan5475 3 жыл бұрын
Do you remove the inner bearing seal or does the grease just push its way through it?
@RobFarrowATV
@RobFarrowATV 3 жыл бұрын
I don't force the issue but grease will make it's way thru...if I feel lots of resistance I stop, usually I'll start to see the grease pushing out and stop. The greaser is designed to push grease in between the two bearing races.
