You can't purchase anything better than Elka suspension I'm not saying that just because I like the company I'm saying that because it's the truth . If you want top of the line you order ELKA.... Even something like Fox Racing shocks is still picked up off a shelf and stuck in a box and sent to the customer.. they are one of the few companies that makes them based on your order instructions..

Yes I'm not sure why BRP insists on over torquing the bolts to where they are dang near impossible to get off but we have came across that ourselves on a couple installs as well. Definitely something to keep an eye out for. A little bit of heat to this bolt and it will come right out every time at least that's been our experience.

That is to adjust the dampening. So if you want the suspension softer you can loosen the dampening if you want it stiffer you can tighten the dampening simply by turning that knob.

Sorry for the late reply KZfaq is terrible about notifications I am just now seeing this message. No my bike did not have any that I can recall. The only reason they would show the shims is because of their tolerances. So for example if your bike is on the closer side to the tolerance level it may not have shims but if it's on the larger side of the tolerance level perhaps maybe they would have to use shims to fill in the gap. So sometimes shims will not always be there. Don't be alarmed it just means your bike was built better than the next guys.

You have to go to their website and design the suspension yourself you answer their questions your suspension will be built specifically for you and your passenger so my suspension will be completely different than your suspension

Anything from Elka would be considered an upgrade. The shocks that come on the rally are very cheap and they can't go any stiffer than the standard 900 suspension they can go softer but the 900 600 and the rally at their stiffest settings are all about the same. Elka suspension is custom built specifically for you and your passenger if you have one. Their suspension is definitely top notch you can't get anything better.. you could easily do stage 3 in the rear and stage 2 in the front and be very happy with the results..

I finally got the shock out. I had to move the bracket around the seat pan back to get it out. 2 star screws on each side.

Maybe a little more than what is prp's recommendation. however the chassis is always going to get a rating that is well under what it can actually handle.. so I'm not too concerned..

Yes you can replace just the rear..

All of their suspension will work because when you order it you tell them how much you weigh.. if you follow the link in my description to their website and then in the search part type in Ryker rally it'll come up with all the suspension options for the Ryker rally.. click on one that you think you might be able to afford as if you were going to check out and you will see what I'm talking about.. there's a part that will ask you questions like do you mostly ride 2 up.. ? It will ask you for the drivers weight and the passengers weight.. stage 4 for the rear end and stage 3 for the front end is their number one selling item.. with me and my wife on there we are at about a little under 500 lb. We are not small people. when I placed my order I filled out the question form and said I mostly ride with a passenger.. the way the spring tension is with all of their springs it has a softer part and a stiffer part almost as if it's a dual component suspension.. that's how it feels underneath of you anyway.. so when I'm riding the bike by myself it is still squishy enough to not just be super stiff but then when I put my wife on the back is squishes down just a little bit past that squishy part and becomes a hell of a lot firmer.. with both of us on the bike bouncing up and down as hard as we can we could not make the max amount smack the fender... The setup is absolutely amazing whether you're writing by yourself or with a passenger.. just make sure you think everything over when you order the shock whether it's stage 3 stage 4 or stage 5.. if you want it to be comfortable and not have to make any adjustments for riding with a passenger then make sure you specify during The question part that you mostly ride with a passenger.. I can assure you even if you only get stage 3 for the rear end you will absolutely love it. 10 times better than the factory rally shocks.. especially since they are custom built. if you were to order something like the Fox Racing shox they literally take them off the shelf and stick them in a box it's the same one for a hundred pound Rider versus a 400-pound Rider... Not Elka suspension...

@@BLRTUNING Hi Bill, Thanks for the detail in the write up above, I do have a question, what would be the difference with the comfort, sport and performance option for the Elka. I'm thinking about purchasing one this year b/c I want to be able to ride my daughter on longer trips. our combined weight is 345lbs. The issue is really with the 3 piece touring saddle bags from SlingMods and I was hoping a rear Elka stage 3 or 4 would keep that middle bar, for the saddle bag mount, from hitting my fender on the 900 ACE when she rides. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

@@CeeDeeLight since the suspension was made for the Can-Am ryker without any saddlebags I would say take the weight of each saddle bag with all the gear into consideration when you purchase the suspension... I still am waiting to hear back from Elka about this subject because from when they made the suspension to now there is a lot more options out there as far as saddlebags and attachments. It was my understanding that the suspension was designed around the base weight of the Can-Am ryker itself plus you and a passenger if you ride with a passenger... Maybe to balance things out you could split the weight of the saddlebags with all the gear between you and the passenger maybe just divide it in half between the two... That's what would make the most sense to me this way the bike will still be comfortable if you're riding by yourself with all the gear and if you add a passenger with all the gear it would be comfortable as well. Maybe it'll distribute some of the load that the bike's going to withstand between the three shocks. the difference between the three options you're asking about performance would be having the suspension adjusted the stiffest straight out of the box. Comfort would be the softest sport would be right in the middle.. That doesn't mean that the bike won't handle the weight that you described to them... It just determines how spongy the suspension is out of the box.. Me and my wife with a saddlebag and a duffel bag and a backpack on my bike went on a 800-mi ride and we were comfortable on the Elka suspension. I have mine set up in sport when I placed my order.. remember you don't need to make any adjustments when you get the suspension out of the box. It comes out of the box ready to install based on everything you described to them when you place your order. over 7,000 mi on my suspension and we've never adjusted the suspension once it's still the same way it was when I got it out of the box and it's still just as comfortable as day one.

Absolutely ..... they are custom-made based on your weight and your passengers weight and how you ride every single set is custom built upon your order nothing sits assembled in a box somewhere on a shelf.. my bike the suspension is set up for a 600 lb load that would be me and my wife and all of our gear fully loaded ready to go on a 4-day road trip that's how we have the bike set up and it is super comfortable...

Bill just out of curiosity how tall are you ? Im looking at a Ryker but being 6'1 270 im not sure if it feel like im riding a kids size bike. Definitely going Elka stage 2 up front and 4 in the back e day its delivered. I've been watching your videos to see how you fit to the bike but your always the one filming. Lol. There is lots of people on the bigger side and taller side that are riding these bikes. I'm 5 ft 7 and 250 with all of my gear.. I'm right double on this bike with my wife on the back and have no issues whatsoever. I think you'll be just fine and they do make modifications to adjust for your height. For example there's a seat that is a little bit longer and the pegs are adjustable and the handlebars are adjustable

I got all of my torque specs from the official book for the Can-Am Ryker.. I mention all torque specs that you need to do the suspension in this video I also have a video showing the front shocks as well..

It's very tricky to get it to fit perfect and it does not fit super snug around the canister for the shock

It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be we went on a 800 mile ride riding 2 up on the stock suspension. We rode for about 2 hours at a time. Not bad at all. there is a better seat option called The comfort seat that you can purchase.

God for short trip but many more much more comfortable. including CAN confort seat.

The entire rear shock comes off as a whole entire assembly I go over as much detail as I could in this video

@@ACrown-nw3os the one that I am using in the video is a 600lb load... From the factory maximum weight they claim is 400 lb... In actuality it's a 185 lb spring.. this spring is a 600-lb spring.. when you place your order with them you have to enter in how much the Rider weights and how much does your passenger weight... It will also ask you do you mostly ride with a passenger or by yourself... They build your suspension for you custom built based on your instructions.. what you order will not be the same as what I ordered.. most other companies are pulling something off the shelf sticking in a box and sending it to you.. not Elka suspension... Everything is custom-built.... If you weigh 200 lb and your passenger weighs 130 lb your suspension will be built to handle your weight plus the bikes....

10 times better than stock there is no comparison whatsoever these are the best on the market and they are custom-made specifically for you and how you ride and how much you weigh...

@@BLRTUNING thanks for replying. So no more neck breaking bumps with that back shock replacement. I ride 2 wheels I bought the ryker for my wife. That rear end is very bumpy do these shocks get rid of that bumpy ride and make it smooth. Sorry for asking twice but those things are expensive and I want it to be worth it for her. I changed the sway bar links first thing and I could tell a difference in the driving right away with the link change.

@@jodymorrison9495 yes they are absolutely worth it.. by far the best suspension that you could possibly buy right now.. just make sure you fill out the form correctly when you are placing your order through their website make sure you enter in your weight and your passengers weight exactly

Very expensive but you get what you pay for. These are the most high-end shocks on the market. You can't get anything better
