This video is amazing. Kudos to you guys for taking the time to document everything on video. The camera work and explanation is some of the best and clearest I have ever seen an heard in a mechanical tutorial. I learned so much and probably saved myself from a ton of time and grief if I had to figure all of this out on the fly. I'm particularly impressed with your pointing out of all the pain points in removal and installation. This is absolute gold. Thank you!

That’s awesome!! Yeah the springs were a bear!!! All I can say it was a royal pain in the butt gettin’ the stock shock off! Anyway I’m really glad you upgraded Hecate now you can really enjoy your luggage system. My wife and I ride 2-up all the time and the shock upgrade was well worth the effort and money. No regrets ! Enjoy !!!

If you tilt the muffler from side to side according to which side spring your putting in. Makes the exhaust install; much easier. Also Silbur Turbo makes a sound adjustable exhaust. That is lighter than the factory. And not that loud. Look at Byron Arnold's video.

RLS makes a lightweight and reasonable sounding exhaust.

I agree. The springs are bad, I didn't jack mine up and it was a pain

CeeDee I believe lamonster Garage has a bracket for the cylinder. I saw a video where he said that the plastic bracket as broken so he bought the aluminum one.

Check out SilberTurbo. They have a loud and also a quiet exhaust just created. Check out ByronArnold’s page and he does reviews. I have the loud exhaust for safety purposes as I was almost ran off the road just last weekend.

There is an aluminum canister holder. I replaced my plastic for the same reason.

Lamonster sells it. It's worth it, but takes some thinking to put it on.

Another great video. Thank you for showing us. Two quick questions. First why did you do it? I am getting the bags and worried my factory rally spring will bottom out so I am looking at doing this. 2nd is how do you like it compared to factory as far as comfort? Again, Thank you for the video. and thank your husband for me. He's a trooper.

Hi & Thank you. I did it because I ride my 14 year old rides with me on occasion and that is when the Ryker bottomed out and it the support bracket of the top case. I had adjusted the stock shock as far (tight) as it could go, and it still bottomed out with her riding with me. That's the main reason I got the Elka Stage 4. After I installed it, I noticed an immediate difference when I rode solo. It made my Ryker ride smoother. I want over bumps and dips in the road and it was so much better, I could barely feel them. When I rode my daughter, The top case support bar didn't hit my fender any more.

How'd you get that troublesome plastic canister holder around the frame it attaches to? I'm installing mine now - but The angled tab that loops behind and around the black frame - is angled up and keeps snagging on the underside of the Ryker plastic bodywork. Did you have to bend it or heat it so its rounded to make that turn?

Cee said: To be clear, if you are referring to the two piece Clamp that holds the canister....we tried everything except heat. We ended up placing the back (or inside part) of the bracket where it would fit, and we then put the front (outside part) where it most closely fit the canister. They did not fully "seat" together; so we had to use a zip tie to tie them together make up that small gap. It seemed that it would have never fit properly with the canisters installed. The tolerances were simply too tight. I hope I have answered your questions!
