Nah, go watch Devon Larratt toy with Hafthor Bjornsson. Put him down like a child. This is like saying a world class sprinter who's never played football would make a good NFL receiver. Not close. Now, with several years of training, who knows, but he's not getting any younger. Shaw would struggle to compete with guys half his size right now.

There's no money on Armwrestling if there was you would see elite athletes compete in the sport. Armwrestling is full of guys who work day jobs as mechanics, garbage men, delivery drivers. There's a lot of great strength/power athletes in the US but many of them just play American football or compete in Olympic weightlifting, Judo, wrestling unless Armwrestling becomes an Olympic sport or have major sponsorship money infused in it, it will always be a hobbyist blue collar niche sport.

Brian reached a level of strengh never seen before in more than one area already, so i wouldn't say he can't add a couple more areas to it. most armwrestlers are normal people that trained decades to obtain strenght specific to what they do, but they are not absolute freak of nature like Brian. If he starts training armwrestling soon, i think the decade spanning from his 45 to 55 years is gonna be a scary time, i certainly hope so, as Brian is also a super awesome dude that would bring much attention and new fans.

Brian is obviously a titan of strength, but just like Larry Wheels he's going to have to put in a lot of work to be able to start using his strength properly for armwrestling. Once he's on that track he'll be a force to be reckoned with in the sport
@spencerthu2956
@spencerthu2956 Жыл бұрын
Yeah but look how far Larry has come and how much better he is and in a reasonably short period of time! He also is not fully committed to just arm wrestling and he still gained so much ground because as soon as he learned a few basic techniques and then put that with his strength and that is why Larry got so good so fast! The same will go for Brian!!! If Brian learns few basics and I said in another comment if he just works on his maintaining his strength and then work on stamina...with just that he would go really far!! Let everyones gas run out then overpower them. It could work .

Brian has a different type of strength than Larry Wheels. Larry is for sure strong, a monster but Brian is inhumanly strong thru every motion not just lifts if that makes sense and he’s got the mass. I mean with Shaw's frame, 6'8" 400+ pounds, he'd been one of the biggest and strongest arm wrestlers to walk the earth. With technique training for a few years he'd be in the top 10 in the world. That being said, I'm not sure it'd be enough to overcome the gap between him and Levan.
@somber8233

Him and Levan are about the same size at 400 ish pounds but I don't think he would be top 10 after only a few years. He'd have to be super dedicated to even rival the top guys. Obviously the potential is there but all the top 10 have a lot of potential too and have been training for many more years than Brian ever will. He would be good to bring in some hype and more fans though.

People don't realise it but arm wrestling takes a few years of conditioning the tendons. It doesn't matter how strong you are when your anatomy is not adjusted to this unnatural movement of arm wrestling. In your first 1 year of training you will feel numbness and you would be lying in your bed ready to cry. That side of the sport is only known to arm wrestlers. Research it it's called newbie pain and it's inevitable. So to answer your question it doesn't matter how strong you are if you have not conditioned yourself you are not anywhere near pro level.

Is having long arms really a disadvantage ? I don't see a lot of short guys in arm wrestling... and talking about leverage being better for people with short arm, I think leverage would be the ratio between your arm length and how far your ligaments are attached from the joints ? Thee must be differences beetween individuals, but overall I guess its pretty proportional ?? I think short is an advantage in weight class, but in heavy weight category, I would suspect being taller means you can build more muscle mass ??

If Brian had 10 years of experience then maybe he could reach similar levels with his insane overall strength, but it is probably too late now. Some coaching from John and Devon and yeah. A year of serious training for an athlete of his stature and he could dominate.

He will likely never get to Levan's level. But with pretty minimal training I think he'd be in the top 50 almost instantly. His strength is just too much. Let him train for 6 Months, and have a real match against someone like Derek, Larry etc.

There is no way Levan will be around by the time Brian gets the time in to get good enough to beat Levan. Levan is on such a ridiculously crazy cycle something is gonna go.

Brian is a freak of nature. If he trained with Devon for a year, he could jump into the top 5 no problem. Saying it would take him several years to learn/get strong enough is not right. Brian is not a normal person, I could see him pick all this up in under a year of dedicated training with someone like Devon.

Arm wrestling is different than Strongman , the fact is Arm wrestlers have better grip than Strongman bsc of the various types of Grip training and cupping, Brian shaw needs atleast 3 years of he trains for arm Wrestling seriously.

even though he curls heavy weights on the video it doesn't seem like he has very big arms. he might be able to prove that he is strong by curling heavy weights but his arms when fully flexed on the table dont really show any definition I think all of his strength soley rely on back, shoulder and forearm and grip strength. he really needs to get some definition in those biceps if he is gonna show that he can be a really good contender in arm wrestling or a really good threat. I not say by any means that he is weak I used to arm wrestle a friend from High School who was 6'2 ft tall and he did nothing but workout he could bench press and squat and curl more weight than I could. but, I think it is crucial to develop more definition in the particular muscle group for that sport because that is an area of the body that has the most amount of stress put on when your competing in arm wrestling. even though Brian trains arms I don't think he rains them enough like the serious competitors do.

Would take Brian about a decade of solid training to approach top 10. People don't understand the levels.

Was thinking the same thing. A bunch of people commenting clearly don’t understand the strength differences in arm wrestling. I experience the same thing when a new guy comes to our club and thinks he can beat the best of us. Ends up not being able to beat the weakest member and get humbled right away. Only after that will he listen to what we say lol. It’s THAT guy haha
