Soooo.... has anyone actually looked into historical fashion???🤗 If you want to play the cultural preference argument, back in ancient times when this was written, the original Hebrew interpretation of that verse, actually is referring to the fact that women were not to wear the clothing of the warrior and vise versa, but experts are saying that the interpretation was more than likely referring to the fact that women were not allowed to go to war and men were not to cowardly run from war by “wearing women’s clothing”.✨ The kjv that many of us know today, was translated to what this verse we know now is. Historians believe it was simply to generalize for easier reading since the western cultures back then had lower education and most people were illiterate.🤗 Another thing I would LOVE to point out, from another historical point of view, feminism originally was not what it is today. I do not identify as a modern feminist because it’s too riddled with things I can’t morally agree with. But at the time that feminism was first created, women were getting abused and targeted specifically. Children were also victims of this and so many brave women fought and gave their lives and many went to jail, simply for upsetting men in high positions who enjoyed being abusive to their wife and children. Up until the late 70s, women in America were not even allowed to open a private bank account without her husband’s or father’s permission depending on if she was married or not. This means that any money she brought in could be seen and used and taken from her by her male relation against her will and legally, she could do nothing about it. Which is difficult considering that any kind of birth control up until the 60s wasn’t even legal and stayed illegal in some states for a few years after it was introduced. To make matters worse, marital rape of a woman was considered legal until 1993!... That meant that a woman could have no say of whether her husband could have sex with her on any given day regardless of feeling ill, exhausted, busy, on period, etc. This also opened the door for many abusive husbands to simply go for physical abuse as long as it was considered sexual. Also, most Ivy League universities in America, would not allow women to attend as students regardless of grades, gpa scores, or experience simply because she was a woman until 1977. And most women were still likely to not be chosen for scholarships, apprenticeships and so forth. So before we go bashing all our ancestors for their “pure rebellion”.... just remember that if they hadn’t fought for the right to vote, the right to be safe from abuse, the safety and rights of children, the right to a job and building a family, the right to speak in public against legal injustices, go to college or just school in general, practice law..... or even open up a bank account.......you wouldn’t be able to open up a KZfaq account for yourself and freely speak about how terrible they all were. You wouldn’t have the freedom to go out of the house unless your husband approved it and your boss could openly fire you simply for being a woman; something that you cannot control because God, who makes no mistakes, made you such.💗 just a gentle reminder.😘

I know this by experience, back when I was not Christian I used to wear very revealing clothes and I would get plenty of looks with lust, envy from women, etc. Now that I am Christian God purified me from inside out and I dress way more modest that I did before, totally a new person haha, now I don’t get such looks, a few here and there but it’s very rare and mostly from men with a lustful spirit. Most looks I get are now of curiosity.. since there is no longer that many modest women out there... I think when the bible mentioned that woman shouldnt wear men's clothing, it means that we shouldnt wear what society deems as mens clothing. Julius Caesar wore a skirt and if men wore it now, it would be considered women's clothing. Or if a guy left the house wearing just a robe, it would be seen as more feminine in our time than in Jesus. Do we all just start wearing robes to be safe? Is that the God you want to be in heaven with? If God were that strict, I dont think any of us will be going to heaven. You have to remember when Jesus walked this earth. He was criticized and demonized for not following the law strictly and in every instance, He gave a logically reason for His breaking of the law like working on the Sabbath. He said wouldnt you go find your sheep if it were missing on the Sabbath? It's not about letter of the law but spirit of the law. You want to pay your respects to God on the Sabbath but if you needed to work because someone or your sheep were in danger, shouldn't you put in a little bit of elbow grease to go find them?? Jesus did. He broke the law. Another good example of Him breaking the (Jewish) law was when He didnt wash His hands before eating.. He wasnt clean and kosher. Jesus said, it doesnt matter since dirty things will just leave your system if ingested but dirtiness that came out of the mouth because of a wicked heart was what matter and is sin. He was a logical man and a logical God. He's not gonna cast down the Jew who didnt wash His hands before supper, but it was different for the guy who gossiped about His brothers. If you took a survey of 100 people and showed a woman wearing pants and a blouse and asked if she is wearing mens clothing, how many will say yes? But if she knows it’s wrong to show your attributes with skin right clothing and God even gave her the no, but she still chooses to wear unpleasant clothing to God then yes, she would be going to the lake of fire for rebellion against God. Again, I ask of you to persist in prayers about this subject to know the truth, it’s indeed better to know what God knows about this rather than trust in our own discernment, although we can think of course, but the result of own thinking and not consulting God has resulted in thousands of false doctrines.. Girl I have advice for you. I wear trousers alot, I wear joggers alot. The condition of the heart goes what you wear. I don't wear skirts, dresses etc. Dress modestly and nicely in a way you like because you'll be miserably if you dont. Just do not pose a stumbling block to others. I think its fine for you to wear trousers, it's not a sin. Enjoy yourself in your dress, be comfortable and be modest. Why do I feel like I just gave good AND bad advice?

The same thing happened to me, my mom got rebuked by the Holy Spirit one time when she wore trousers and from that day on, she banned us( her kids) and herself from wearing trousers until God told her that they were not a sin, it just depends on your intentions and how you wear them. God infact told my mom that trousers are a covering unto women and they are to cover you from your bottom to your feet, as long as you wear them moderately and don't cause men to sin. I advice you to share this message to your parents and tell them to seek the face of God for deeper revelation. Trust me I understand, I was once in your position and I just felt captive. I totally agree with your comments. If pants are designed for women and called women's pants, then that is not men's clothing we're putting on. Most women's pants don't have a fly in the front, with the exception of jeans. Some women look really bad in a dress to be honest. Some Christian women feel a lot of concern over fashion is just vanity. Personally I can't stand shopping for clothes, period.

Originally, skirts were invented for men. Pants did not come into the picture until many centuries. I'm not saying that you're wrong in the belief that pants are immodest, just disagree with the use of a scripture that isn't historically accurate in context.

The Bible does not say women shouldn't wear pants. It says there should be a distinction between what men and women wear. Men in biblical times did not wear pants either. Men and women wore similar clothing, but they were still distinct and meant for either a male or female. There are pants specifically for females that are noticeably feminine.
