Can Food Heal Us? (Diet vs Fasting)

What's the difference between fully healing, and managing your symptoms? Most people are avoiding certain foods that make them feel bad, and claiming they are healed. That's what most elimination protocols do. Carnivore diet, keto avoid sugars which feed bad bacteria and yeast in the body and their symptoms go away. But are they really cured? If they eat sugar, their symptoms come back. How do you get at the root cause and heal forever? Seems to be extended water fasting, and dry fasting.

There's Total Paranatel Nutrition aka TPN it feeds you nutrition and liquids (all the body needs) intravenously and allows the gut to heal. It's basically dry fasting without wasting away. Trevor talks about getting past day 13 as your heart rate starts increasing rapidly and becomes impossible to sleep. He uses breatharian breathing techniques to absorb moisture to prolong his dry fasts. He did a 15 day dry fast by 3 day water fast 4 times in a row to cure his disease. That's what over 72 days of total fasting. That's insanity. Being on Keto before the fast helps then doing a major detox before starting the detox and an enema/salt flush to get out the crap. Break the fast with bone broth no salt on the first couple days then maybe diluted fruit juices then some raw eggs by the 4th day and slowly build up back to your normal caloric intake. It takes about 7 years to become level 4 breatharian (no food or qater). It takes about several months to become a level 3 breatharian 50% decreased caloric intake and 1 year to get to 20% of your normal food intake. Ray Mayor is a great mentor for Breatharians.

On the seventh day he rested! Dry fast once a week to give the systems of the body the necessary break to function properly
@cman743
@cman743 2 ай бұрын
Actually, what the Israelites did on the Seventh day is rest from creative work. They did not rest from eating. That is why we in the Jewish community prepare the Shabbat meal the day before. Kiddush is the meal on Shabbat and you are supposed to eat your fill, delight in company, and remember your G-d. Sorry if that sounds like an annoying correction, but I just see many Christians getting this one thing wrong about and I want you to be correct and spread true information.

I'm not sure it does take huge amounts of discipline, just try meat only for a day, then go back to normal then when you feel like it go back to meat only. Your body will get the hint and then start asking YOU to go meat only. Dont force your body, train it, one day at a time.

Currently i want to give up or greatly reduce coffee, vaping pot, snuggery things and certain lazy meals such as fries. Generally i am fairly healthy but i stopped exercising a few years back so that's another thing i want to get back into and also i want to greatly reduce my youtube watch time. @@TheKZfaqExpert it’s a slippery slope. It started with one super thin slice of birthday cake and one spoonful of ice cream. Then it became pizza once every few weeks. Then once a week. I have a similar story. Was completely healed through extreme diet after being sick since my teens. Decided to get pregnant one last time, at 40. Added back certain foods for the pregnancy because pregnant women aren’t supposed to restrict nutrition, but after my baby was born I started going downhill bad. Turns out I developed another autoimmune condition. Been 7 years and still trying to cure myself. Apparently the first cure didn’t work for me again.

I look young and baby face healthy like VP due to these same diets but my joints and body are wrecked including the whole back and hips in MRI’s. The only thing that brings major improvement rapidly is dry fasting, so I want to continue down this path also. Next I will attempt to do a 5-7 day dry fast and keep working my way up by odd numbers like he said. The body will adapt.

I'm also on this journey trying to figure out-- over the last 7 years --how to heal from my histamine intolerance/Gut related issues. I have figured out a few things and have been trying enzymes and supplements and techniques and really want to get to the root cause of it all as it manifested out of the blue when I turned 50 and I am determined to fully heal so that I can freely eat all the foods that my body wants without having to think of whether they represent a danger to my immune system and have full blow reactions!! It's gotten a bit better over the past couple of years. Eating at rest without any stress helps a lot too. I don't think many people are aware of how important it is to eat your meals in mindfulness and with no surrounding stress as digestion is a very delicate process and can be negatively impacted by hearing negative words, upsetting news, being in the wrong setting with the wrong people. We think of eating as a social activity but I think that especially for highly sensitive people, it's in their highest interest to pay close attention to the energies of the people and places they invite to their meals. Being mindful is key.

Hey VP, someone in the comments mentioned stress - I haven't seen you discuss body-mind connection much, I think u r on an interesting path (wth nice humor), tho u may be overlooking some key components in healing so hopefully the suggestions to look at the full holistic & metabolic picture will help - food/nutrition is important for sure (that's my area) tho one component... Hopefully that helps!?

I follow Trevor and have listened to most of his streams and I'd say there's a lot he doesn't talk about, more specifically, in my estimation he places too much focus on parasites. Dry fasting is a serious stressor and if your nervous system is significantly disregulated it can really mess you up. Whilst I'm a fan of dry fasting, it can literally put you in the ER. We also need more gentle modalities to heal and paying a lot of attention to symptoms won't help either, actually, it will do the opposite. You're basically giving your brain the message that you're not safe and then you're trending towards sympathetic dominance. Sympathetic dominance is a MAJOR obstacle to healing.

Thank you Casey for sharing! It seems like most people are frustrated on carnivore because they can’t lose weight … most people on carnivore figure out what tastes yummy and eat way too much for their bodies… The Priming process of eating 5 to 10k calories a day just to do a long fast would have been called “binge purge” in the past and now it’s just a new way of health. Now broccoli is a trigger for some… do you find vegetables cause any cravings? Thank you for sharing!!!

Sounds like you’re not a binge eater…. A lot of the carnivore newbies just do the diet because they think they can eat meat normally stop and lose weight heal blindness and as long as it’s carnivore they are healthy and if they don’t lose weight it’s due to the “healing phase “ you nailed it with a little portion control resulting in vastly different outcomes

Great content! Lately I have been leaning on extended fasting more than I ever have. I am finding it liberating! When I eat I have tried to stick to carnivore, but when you do week long fast you kinda have the freedom to fit in some “off base” food if you really want to. Last July my goal was to go from 305lbs to 200lbs. Last month on Feb. 22 I was still 291lbs. My weigh in the other day was 277. Fifteen pounds in 3 weeks, and the week in the middle i did not fast that well, but doing this gives me hope I can still achieve my goal by July. I think if a person gets to doing it you will have success, and it’s like someone hit you in the head, and you are like “duh” this makes sense…. Give your body a chance to heal itself!!

Probably less common, I’m onboard for all the other benefits of carnivore. I’ve really been enjoying the mental clarity, mood boost, lack of inflammation and general feelings of wellness. Side benefit, body composition is shifting (those curvy parts are fun, lol)… Hormones, eh?

Dry fasting never helps, it only harms. Water fasting (done properly) is what helps real cleansing and healing. The idea that dry fasting helps is as logical thinking that we could run faster by holding our breath.

Dry fasting took my back pain from terrible, could barely walk a mile, to negligible, can walk 7 miles or more, basically as far as I'd like, and it rarely hurts. It's honestly incredible for managing pain. How do you explain that?

Man, I'm a bit disappointed and feel sorry for you as well. I recently found your channel and decided to go back and start watching your diet adventure since the beginning. I was really thinking of finally getting all the diet answers I'm been chasing for. I don't want to believe eating meat is the solution here. From all the videos I watched, I never heard of you having any kind of medical examination. Did you happen to do any? I mean: diet is a huge factor for sure, but there could be also some medical conditions related to your feeling unwell. I would like to know more about your your diet experience. Your videos are great but I'm finding very difficult to follow as they are too many and generic. I would really love to get more detailed videos about your diet and medical conditions if you mind sharing them of course. Thanks anyway I'lll keep watching you in any case!

Adequate food and water intake will definitively *heal you* and prevent dying from excessive dry fasting ;-) As for weight loss, I not only do not recommend dry fasting, I actually warn against doing it. As for using dry fasting in order to relieve symptoms when suffering from inflammatory bowel disease, it's a very risky approach in my opinion as there is a risk of dehydratation, low blood pressure triggered dizziness and passing out, change of gut microbiome, and formation of gallstones. However I'm not here to preach, so whilst I've been succesfully losing about 10 kg of weight in 6 weeks by strickly controlling calories and increasing water input (4 litres per day and more) this approach was *also risky* and I do not recommend it as I was targeting a caloric deficit of 1000 kcal/day which meant I was unable to eat enough protein with such a low caloric daily input. There is a risk of excessively losing muscle mass if a minimum target of protein ingestion is not attained. Worse, with the known Jo-Jo effect, when weight is regained, there will be more gain in fat than in muscle mass, especially with insufficient exercise. So one may end up fattier and weaker than before. Take care and do not turn yourself into a guinea pig.

Do you rather live to 80 yo doing 100 push ups, pull ups, what have you? Or live to 120 yo doing 10 (or even 5) reps? That's the thing, the training to be able to do high volume is NOT the exercise for longevity. And the diet for high volume is also NOT a diet for longevity.

It's hard to say what 'cured' (except for when I get covid which causes a flare immediatly).. I was on prednisolone for a while and azothiaprine which is what did the heavy lifting. Without azothiaprine I was in trouble for many years. Apart from the meds I am vegetarian and use cannabis a lot which I don't think is strong enough a medicine to stop a flare but I'm pretty sure it tames my immune system a little. I use sativa which is light and good for imaginative thought too. I eat a little bit and smoke a little in a bong. Caffiene helps direct the high into focused work. I am a cad/3d artist.Other than these things I cannot decipher what made me healthy for (mostly) 20 years. I can eat like a normal person currently. My initial experiences with crohns were life threatening..so it is possible to be close to cured.

I believe we and all our cells need to be nourished and satiated/satisfied (with vitamins, nutrients, sun, air, water), in my mind that is self love. If our cells are supplied, they can work better to make us healthier and healthier. Does any animal voluntarily fast? The Blue Zone is in a climate where there is like no winter and people live in "heaven" literally supplied with everything they need all year around. They live the longest.

You may want to try the soul cleanse, look up Law of Life - Dr Horst Muller or Dr Mark Sandoval. The body and spirit are inseparably linked, so cleansing one without the the other won't fix things. And the spirit is upstream from the body so more important than the physical. All the best man, and everyone on the healing journey

fasting only works when you got some fat(so it's a fat fast essentially) on you.. when you are skin and bones it's gonna be you eating what's left in your body to survive.. You gotta fast all the time when you are a bloated vegan that's for sure but I think eating the proper foods help more than fasting aka animal products. Starvation is not the answer.. I think people way over complicate their diet.. Avoid your problem foods, eat a mix of meat and greens, fast a day or two a week, drink plenty of water. How often do you see a squirrel sitting there debating which nut to eat? They find a nut they like, they eat it when it's available... They see a seed that makes them sick, they leave it be.
