In this week's episode, I'll show you how I turned the bottom half of a headboard into a designer dupe. The moment that I saw the CB2 Bixby Console, I instantly fell in love! I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could create a version of it within $100. Let me know what you think of the final results and be sure to subscribe to see more furniture transformations and custom wood base builds! **HEADS UP: My audio kind of messed up in a couple parts. I apologize for the any inconvenience that this may have to your ears!**

A couple of points, If you can make clean, straight, flat cut, then you dont need the pocket screws or dowels, the glue alone would be more than enough with proper clamping. Which leads to the clamps, while technically those squeeze clamps will clamp a joint together enough for the glue to hold it, they dont apply enough clamping pressure to create a sufficient glue only joint (so in this project, the screws and dowels were a good backup to add). Apart from a few quality brands of squeeze clamps, a screw clamp like a F-Clamp style is required to get the right amount of clamping pressure required to create a properly bonded glue join. And lastly a reasonable quality "Brad Point" drill bit set would be a good investment, as you will never be able to get an accurate hole with standard drill bits, while you can get "good enough" you will be surprised at how much of a difference Brad Points will make when drilling wood. Not meant as a judgement, just a "Incase your not aware". sorry if it comes across a bit condescending.

Really nice work! Instead of pocket holes, one option would've been to cut through mortises on your legs with your router and added tenons to your template. You might not have had enough width on your board but I wanted to throw that option out since you asked. Again, great work!

No, thank you! That's a great point! I know I’m still learning and definitely wouldn’t say I’m a pro. That's why I love sharing and being part of this community because I get to learn from fellow woodworkers or people who have way more knowledge than I do! 🤎

Thank you! ☺️ My orbital sander is by Skils and I also used my SurfPrep 3" X 4" Electric Ray Sander for the curve parts. The vacuum attachment is from Rockler and it's the “FlexiPort Power Tool Hose Kit with Click-Connect & expandable hose”
