A user asked if the guitar in Sidewalks by The Weeknd could be programmed on an Ample Sound Electric Guitar. I said yes.
Here is how to do it.
Course owners: If you want to download this project's WAV and MIDI files, please visit www.hifimidi.com and you can find it in the R&B/Soul section under exercises.

Many Thanks. Awesome idea for doing request songs. Also A Tonne of Thanks for taking up requests. That will be huge learning. Also after a long long wait you Taught the Tab Notation usage with Ample Guitar. Most of these books are 50 Songs based. It will be Awesome if say you Took 50 for Acoustic Songs and 50 for Electric and created 2 NEW Parallel Courses.

After years I came to a conclusion that it’s easier to just learn to play a live guitar than program these complex virtual instruments
@hifimidi
@hifimidi Жыл бұрын
Maybe. Maybe not. It’s different for everyone. I own thousands of virtual instruments and would not try to learn each one. So there’s a use for this technology.

I get you’re joking but this is just SOOOO much easier than learning the instruments

I agree .. I have been learning to play guitar and keyboards as I am a bass player and the more i play the guitar the more easy it is to record the guitar to get the real sounds. Still the keyboard just dose not sound like a real true guitar.. The sound the string bends you can do on a real one from note to note and the string muting you can do on and off so easy on a real guitar. I am still working on getting a more real guitar sound but its just not the same as a real guitar. I can not create the same riffs and sounds I play on the real guitar in software. I think the software is good for more quick strum sounds to fill in when needed. I have been playing with the Riffler app Not Riffer and its quite amazing I have it working on my Mac even with it being a cell app so I can use it with Ample Sound or other guitar plugins and it creates some amazing guitar patterns in any style you want. Things I can not play on the guitar yet.

Thoroughly enjoyed that, I dont know how to play real instruments but i try learn the vst and some theory. learned a lot of bits i didnt know you could do from the video. not sure i understand the jargon of legato hammer etc. so if you have a video explaining those jargon then it would be nice if you could give me a nod in the direction.

I have tried and bought all guitar libraries available and believe me, there is nothing that gets as close to the real deal as possible than orange tree libraries

I love ample and have got most of them but if you just put some notes in a piano roll Shreddage sounds much heavier.

I am using Ableton. How do I get into the "ample guitar key editor" like yours where I can see the piano roll on the side with the guitar notes? Is this possible in Ableton?

Sounds good. But a real guitar player can tell the difference
@xsympl9070

There is literally nobody going into a track to decide if the guitar is real or not. I am a real guitar player, own multiple guitars and two basses, from a family of guitar players (hell my dad owns like a dozen electric and a half dozen acoustic) and casual listeners 100% do not care. I've posted stuff I've played and stuff I've done digitally and purposefully asked other players to A/B and they just can not especially if you're competent in adding realism lmao. The elitism bullshit is what is killing innovation and the same assholes that act like they can tell digital versus real guitar can't even accurately tell Berried Alive or Rings of Saturn for real or fake when blind tested.

I've used ample for like 2 years now for making demo's, sometimes the demo ample guitar track sounds more real than what we recorded with real guitar lmao. If know how to program it like a real guitar player the results will be good.
