@@Gamer4lyfe00 it does and heavily so. Justin was considering to pick claw for a split second and reverted back to low tiers (except Iori). Would have changed the outcome. There are few high top tiers (Blanka, Sagat), and a bunch of very good characters (Dictator, Cammy, Sakura, Ken, Iori, Geese, etc ), and then many average players (among which those that Smug picked), and few low tiers (Dan, King, Kyoske, ...). To give Smug credit he made middle tier characters look good and with an adequate groove

Sorry but it's just your nostalgia for cvs2 that makes you think that way... Meaning exactly not think clearly. Capcom and SNK will never make a crossover in recent times, exactly because it will obviously overshadow their own main franchises. SF is doing very well and KOF is doing much better than before... and there are even more SNK projects in development, in case you are not in touch with the news. So this is definitely not a good time to spend resources on a crossover. This is not about what I wish, this is about reality and realistic outcomes.

Your fan hype and fixation to Capcom fgs (or maybe lack of knowledge of the early fg history) blocked your understanding that CvS was motivated by an actual crisis for both sides. Capcom gave up SF after Third Strike in 99, and had no other strong franchise left except MvC... so their fg sector was already going downhill. And the whole SNK was crumbling at the same time: KOF 99 and even Garou MOTW (99) underperformed compared to past year games... and next year Garou 2 was cancelled, and the only (and final) games released were KOF 00 and M. Slug 3. Then SNK stopped games in 00 and officially closed in 01. CvS felt like that party during the sinking of the Titanic movie. But now Capcom is in a good shape with fgs, SF became a solid franchise like it's never been after SF2... And SNK is in a good shape after Samsho and now KOF 15, so they are even bringing back FF, and already talked about more. And after SF6's success maybe the SF devs can convince Capcom to let another franchise to be revived. So both sides won't give up their current pace in the fg run because of a crossover.

Yoooo smug is real? Nah, joking aside, the spacing and the neutral between both was great to see on display. Right now im learning bbcf, but if i ever get the means to build or buy a decent to good gaming pc, cvs2 and mvc1&2 are games id love to go back and learn and just explore the characters and mechanics. Great set. Thoroughly entertained. 😅 stay blessed.

What do you think about bringing watchalongs of matches? Ask suggestions of great high level matches of these classics like 3S, SFA3, CVS2, etc. Another idea is watching an advanced combo video of one of those classics on stream and then switch to fightcade and do some of the combos.

When i know I'm the better and more experienced player, I use low tiers, because I play for fun before anything. And if I lose, I take the loss. In fact I value more players that have intensive knowledge across the board than the surgical beast that preys everyone with A-Bison, Balrog and Blanka. Justin is the better player, but Smug won outside of the obvious mega-top-tiers. Also, I think the ratio system is awful. I always play on plain 3-on-3. It's a really bad idea when besides the natural advantage of top tiers the game is ruled by a buff system that in paper, might even things out or give a chance to bad characters, but always make differences even worse.

Is Morrigan a mid tier or top tier character? I cant remember. I always loved her since darkstalkers but sometimes i see players in tournaments poppin of with her

She was a late bloomer character. People back then were absolutely obsessed with roll cancels and high damage through pokes or A-groove combos. I think Buktooth was one of the people to start thinking "hey...what if I used Morrigan's dash as a way to mixup" but by then new games were coming out. Also bear in mind during the time of the game's release and popularity there wasn't as high of knowledge share so unless you went to socal or nyc you could know stuff but wouldn't be able to showcase it.

@@badhombres1190 Hao was very much a popular couch meta character because of his pokes - it was the rest of his kit that sucked (low combo damage, one of the worst DPs in the game, and terrible recovery). Compare him to people like Sagat, Cammy, Blanka, Vega, Bison, etc. there was so much lacking. Add to how Hibiki was very similar except she had insane damage and probably the best anti-air in the game it was very difficult for anyone justify him for competitive play. The meta kept changing especially when Japan started to have more presence in Evo.
