Malaysia is already a regional financial hub under 6 decades of Islamic leadership. Otherwise how to embezzle billions in the 1MDB? Even Goldman Sachs was hauled to court. Without the money how to embezzle? Clearly Malaysia is poised to become the region's financial hub with its easy access to money, directly or indirectly. One can get easy access to money whether or not it belongs to you. Malaysia welcomes all investors to come anytime. Country garden forest city is another famously large investments that foreigners have invested in Malaysia. Billions. And today it remains a suck-cess-pool story, with its god forsaken empty lands and houses and algae stained walls.

Not just that, Singapore's location is much better than Malaysia's. As a hub, locality is important, Singapore started off as a shipping hub, then it became aviation and financial hub of South East Asia, Singapore is currently competing to be the technology hub as well.

Before we want Malaysia to become a financial hub, please enhance our finance security either in banks or from hackers. We learned that some hackers stole millions of accounts information from Malaysian banks. In Jan 203, we recorded 13 million data breaches mostly users from Maybank, Astro, and Election Commission.

My thoughts exactly as yours. Now, Singapore may be ahead of Malaysia at this point of time, however, Malaysia has all the future potential to become a more successful developed financial hub. What's needed right now, is for the top Malaysian leaders to stay focus, prudent and more resilient towards managing the people, its wealth and resources. But right now, the political situations are not perfectly in balance, quite some mess in disguise. Our new Prime Minister has plenty to do, not just reformations. And I'm not sure he's seeing the bigger picture.

I hope it doesnt become like any of the financial capitals that had existed or still does anywhere in the world. Matter of fact, after working in many other developed nations including Singapore, I am glad Malaysia had not rushed headfirst into " developing " and end up like the rest. South Korea, America, Britain, Japan and Singapore are overworked and overstressed to ensure the facade of materialistically medicating the spirit is maintained. Everyone is a serf under corporate technofeudalism after which they can be whatever they want.

@@secrets.295 u lost me at Americans r lazy. I thoughy the popular stereotype was Americans are workaholics who continously on the ball and at work if compared to Europe or Asia. Perhaps you refering to gen tik tok and gen Z? Its not surprising if people in the corporate sector are overworked. The age of accountants whom are only concerned about the numbers swamping the board of directors had led to where things are at the moment. It used to be semi skilled and entry level tech jobs which saw one position carry the responsibilities of two. Now its the norm blanketing the exec positions right up to the upper management, atleast in Sg and Malaysia too. Asia side, nearly every one I know are doing tasks and jobs that wasnt part of their jobscope to begin with. Many take the extras back home. Remember, Malaysia (or Malaya before 1957) was one of the Asian tigers a few decades ago, even ahead of South Korea then. Owing to weak and misguided governance our standard of living in this country went downwards. Now with perceptible enlightenment in our new leaders, Malaysia is starting its way up again. If we can shut out destructive sugar-coated interference from the West and follow the way of peace and development in tandem with our neighbours and smart China, we can and we will go a long way to securing prosperity and happiness for all people in this part of the world. This is the ideal we have been hoping and dreaming for -- for so long! Dr. Neoh C.K.

When Kl is mentioned the film "Catch me if you Can' comes to mind. The other things that come to mind is ' the biggest financial Scandal' in the history of the world and 1MDB. Do you think you can call yourself a Financial Hub just by building a couple of skyscrapers? Maybank, RHB, Public Bank and Hong Leong Bank, these names are not even well known in Southeast Asia not to say outside of Asia. At best we can say that they have made strides in the realm of Islamic Banking. And Islamic Banking has a hugh potential to grow but Islamic Banking is probably considered a small part in the world of Banking and Finance as a whole. If we are talking about a being a being a financial hub for Islamic Banking hub than I think Abu Dhabi is a more likely candidates if they are determined to do so as it is in the heart of where Islamic Capital lies. Sounds outlandish for ones to link KL to the term Global Financial Hub IMHO. Probably more justified to say KL is way ahead of 3rd to 4th tier Asian nations. Malaysia is already a regional financial hub. Country garden forest city is another famously large investment that foreigners have invested in Malaysia. Billions. And today it remains a suck-cess-pool story, with its god forsaken empty lands and houses and algae stained walls.
