Good for her. I am happy she knew she was going to reject him and paid half. That is the way it should be. I think he is too into his partying ways and getting sloshed for a relationship. He seemed a bit slow as well.

She's a cutie pie. Like she said she needs someone with a bit more drive and ambition. I would say an established man or one aggressively working towards those goals. I like that she plays sports but still has a warm and feminine personality.

Girls that age are so much more mature. He seems about 16. Says "sweet" too much. Not much going for him, really - no passions, likes to get drunk and throw up, sleep a lot, live at home with Mom. Next!!!!!!

In other First Date franchises, I watch hoping to see something romantic, with the possibility of a future. On FDNZ, I usually just cringe and feel bad for everyone!! 20 and 22, no chemistry, no interesting conversation. Just because they filmed the date doesn't mean they have to air it.

I find the commenters calling the gentlemen immature to be projecting. In fact, expecting your partner to 'entertain' you is probably the most childish view there is. Your partner should spend time with you because they want to, not because you demand it. Even if the woman's sole reason for rejecting him was because of ambition, which I highly doubt it was, she would still have to justify why her goals are superior to his goals. That would require an answer to the 'meaning of life' which I'm sure her engineering degree can't provide her. You're welcome for the boost to your algorithm First Dates.

She’s acting as though she is almost done with her college years and is serious about transitioning into a more mature phase of her life. All of that going out, drinking and partying will not matter in the long-run and prove to have been a waste of money. Plus, the fact that he classifies himself as a mommy’s boy shows how he needs to mature a bit.

This was good match making. She's a civil engineer & he's a builder. The engineers I know seem to be very intelligent, hopefully these two are. There was a shift in energy after Michael said the crude pickup line. It may have been better to have chosen one that was milder or not said one at all. Olivia seems to be so guarded. Maybe it would be better if she did some further healing from having her heart broken before dating again.

to be fair to olivia, I just don't think this guy was her type. he wasn't very ambitious or interesting. she seemed to carry most of the conversations. they just seems to have 2 completely different personalities. i think she has healed, but the 1st boyfriend has obviously had a big impact on her and has set the bar high, so her future boyfriends will have to rise to the occasion.
