YES! Stress absolutely impacts pelvic health. Whether you have pelvic pain, bladder leakage, interstitial cystitis, urinary urgency/frequency, prolapse, or painful sex, stress and emotion can play a role in your symptoms. This video explains why, and what you can do about it!

I'm only half way into this video and felt I had to leave a comment. I've suffered with pelvic and bladder pain since the sudden loss of my best friend 8 months ago. I have linked the pain to the grief and stress caused by her loss, but I've found it so hard to just 'relax and let go",as like u say in this video, its not that simple. I'm definitely ruminating over my issues. Its the first thing on my mind in the morning and last at night. I have been so so upset over losing my friend, who was more like a sister, so it makes sense that this has triggered my health issues. I am trying so hard to help myself to get better. I've tried an ic diet, yoga, and I do one of your meditation videos daily, which has been a real god send. I hope that we all can find a way to release all this tension within our pelvis. It is so debilitating and takes over. So thank you for these videos. It makes me feel I'm not alone and that one day I'll be pain free.💕xx

Hello I just watched your video and I can't tell how much I appreciate it! Please talk about this subject more. You have hit the nail on the head regarding what I personally am experiencing post hysterectomy! The bladder and rectal pain, urgency and frequency have increased expodentially since I had the surgery 5yrs ago during the past 1yr and a half. The political and environmental challenges are overwhelming at times! My doctor's treatment have been to prescribe medications to treat the nerve pain and HTN. My blood pressure is elevated due to the chronic pelvic pain. Thank you for what you are doing to help all of us with this awful problem and I intend on following your you tube videos as much as possible!

I was diagnosed with IC about 12 years ago and wholeheartedly agree that stress can make it worse. I follow a strict diet and try to stay active; however, have to avoid certain exercises that strain the pelvic floor. I’ve suspected that I also have PFD because it’s become increasingly difficult to have a pelvic exam. I even tried pelvic floor therapy but couldn’t relax enough to get any benefit out of it, plus it became expensive. Your videos are wonderful and thank you so much for bringing attention to these issues.

I'm so glad my videos have been helpful for you! My best advice for PFD and activity/stretching is to go slow, to breathe deeply + slowly, and to remember that motion is lotion. Movement heals, as long as you are gentle, patient, and persistent. Keep up the great work!

I have been very sick for over a year due to very serious medication side effects. It's cause me so much anxiety and when i go out in the car, i always get urinary urgency, made worse because most washrooms are closed to the public due to covid and are still closed. I also get it at night too. I haven't slept well in over a year and when i do sleep, it's because i've had to take a lot of medications to fall asleep. Doctor's don't take any of it seriously and have mostly left me on my own to figure it all out.

I'm glad the pelvic floor stretches are helping you! And personally, I find that tea is a really nice substitute for caffeinated drinks. Hot tea soothes my mind but without the jitters of coffee... of course herbal teas are best in this case (caffeine free), although green tea generally has less caffeine than coffee so that can be a good choice too. Best wishes!

When I went to my doctor with symptoms the first - and only - thing he suggested was antibiotics and he sent me to a urologist who didn't help at all either. He dismissed my own ''diagnosis'' of chronic stress and tension as the cause of my symptoms. Pelvic tension and sometimes pain , decreased ejaculatory force and sensation/pleasure , and increased urinary frequency during periods of stress.. I am 53 in very good shape , proper weight , non smoker/drinker no drugs , exercise very regularly , clean diet . My only problem and stressor is my job..

I think you'd find my (now) 14 month saga with this issue pretty interesting. It's ncredible, what I've done to myself by fixating on certain body functions with my health anxiety. Through your information and a couple other sources, I know pretty much for certain that I've driven so much tension to my PF. 🤦‍♂️ The resulting symptoms & presentations I've experienced correlate with all you've said. My own mind did this to me and the vicious cycle has me stuck.

It sounds like you've been through a challenging journey with your health, and it's not uncommon for anxiety to impact physical symptoms. It's positive that you're recognizing the potential connection between your mental state and the symptoms you're experiencing. Consider discussing this aspect with a mental health professional who can provide support and strategies to manage health-related anxiety. Integrating both physical and mental health approaches may contribute to your overall well-being. ~Vibrant Support

My Ob barely told me to go to a physical therapist for my pelvic floor and to strengthen my core.. I just feel so scared because I really am feeling my symptoms are feeling worst each day, I have a lot of abdominal pain and also they found cysts in my ovaries, also my tail none has moved out of place.. @@vibrantpelvichealth it does not cause pelvic floor dysfunction now can it make things get worse temporarily during stressful situations and panic attacks if you already have muscle and fascia tension causing pfd? Yes as someone who had pelvic floor dysfunction I am qualified to tell you stress does not cause it from my personal experience, I cured my pelvic floor dysfunction I have zero pelvic pain yet I am still super stressed, wanna know how? Resistance stretching exercises, loaded eccentrics and weight training, the only time stress can affect pain is if you already have extreme tension to begin with and it's usually temporary flare ups but making things worse isn't the same thing as inherently causing it.
