Ok. I’m here for adding this. It’s a feat of athleticism and deserves recognition. However: No more excuses that the judging is “too subjective” for certain sports which is the main thing I hear against adding pole dance. If they can determine a way to fairly judge “soul” for Breaking, then they can find a fair way to judge pole and other aerial athletes.
@sh0k0nes
@sh0k0nes 2 жыл бұрын
Create a system that is IOC compliant. One that reduces the subjective aspect and has a high degree of consistency. Or use ours🤷🏾‍♂️

And just as u can't judge 'Mind', 'Soul' is just a header that represents an abstraction of underlying concepts.
@soryaxxx
@soryaxxx 2 жыл бұрын
Soul in relation to breaking means more of musicality and other abstract stuff which is already an integral part of scoring in many sports. In relation to stuff like pole and other acrobatic stuff not being in the olympics, it really comes down to organizations pushing the sport and creating a format that is in line with IOC guidelines. Pole only became an official sport last year, and is on the watch list for olympics to see how they conduct competitions etc. Personally I think it's redundant to add another acrobatic sport because gymnastics already cover that area so well it doesn't really add much, but then again I think breaking and many many other olympic sports shouldn't really be there in the first place so could just be me.
@sh0k0nes
@sh0k0nes 2 жыл бұрын
@@soryaxxx I made the system and wrote the rulebook. Soul does not mean that in the system. We don't judge on 'soul'. And what u feel about what should be an Olympic sport is irrelevant. The Games are dying and they need new blood. U'd prefer they died than evolved? That's probably why ure not part of the decision making process.
@soryaxxx

@@sh0k0nes Are you not able to read or are you just dumb? Pretty concerning that you don't know musicality is a pretty integral part of breaking and its evaluation then. I'm always confused about the line between art and sport. Like ballet is more physically difficult than most sports but is considered an art not a sport and thus isn't in the Olympics. But Ice dancing and breaking and artistic swimming are considered sports. This isn't shade against any of these things. They are all super difficult (more difficult than a lot of other sports in the Olympics) but I think it's interesting how we divide things.
@marielouis8873
@marielouis8873 2 жыл бұрын
I get that confusion. From convos with my friends, they say that ballet is too much of an art to be a sport. There is no competitive element to it nor can one be incorporated because of the subjective nature. What one person finds beautiful another may see as a nuisance.
@dashkataey1740
@dashkataey1740 2 жыл бұрын
It completely matters on the competitive aspect as to whether it would be considered a sport or an art. Take ballroom dancing for example. It's definitely an art but there also are competitions so it could be considered a sport. I don't think there are any ballet competitions other than maybe trying out for the same part. But I think the biggest differential would be elements. In something like breaking, there are a ton of different elements you can incorporate into a given routine making it harder or easier based off of what a person does and a judge can award that difficulty with more points. In ballet, there are pretty set moves that everyone needs to be able to do and everyone who competes should be able to pull off those same elements. Furthermore, ballet, at least from my experience, doesn't allow for much improv, meaning new elements such as say flips and twists would probably be disallowed leading to judgments that would be subjective as there really isn't much difference in the execution of said elements among world-class dancers one would think.

@aballetgal6788 2 жыл бұрын
@@dashkataey1740 Hi! I am a ballet dancer and there are many ballet competitions worldwide, such as YAGP (Youth American Grand Prix), the Prix de Lausanne, and the International Ballet Competition. Competitors are judged on many different elements such as technique (how well the step is executed), artistry, movement quality, and emotion. Also, ballet has evolved and become a lot different even over the past 20-40 years. People are doing more pirouettes and fouettés, higher jumps, and longer balances. In my opinion ballet is most certainly one of the most physically challenging “sports”, but if it was put into the Olympics the focus of ballet would change from trying to get into a company and perform, to trying to become better, faster, for the Olympics. It would make ballet too focused on the steps versus actually performing and having artistry. Hope this helps!

This is the reason their brand works so well. They have fun and joke, but they always take the experts and things they're saying seriously and never try to put down things. They genuinely TRY!

It's the same reason why he wasn't in the taekwondo episode, he has extensive experience, so it wouldn't truly be a layman trying it for the first time.

I’m surprised this is in the series when it won’t be in Olympic until 2024 .. they could have saved this one for next time assuming Try Guys will be online forever ♥️

I am really really curious how this is going to be judged in the olympics only because I don't think there is any other sport in it that is judged by such vague categories. I think it's going to have a lot of the same types of scoring like figure skating where they have to perform a certain number of tricks/moves and the moves are of different difficulty ratings. But it is still really cool that a street dance made it to the world stage.
