Awesome reconditioning DFI. I’d love to see the reaction from the original owner if you took it back to them. Might make a great narrative.

Nice video, nice work. Incredible how well they respond to a clean and a paint. That metal needle seems to work a treat making them start easily.

@@DrewFixIt sweet I'll take a look. These are great videos. The one I just picked up is running well with new fuel. And I cleaned up the old grass. I am a lawnmower beginner so these vids help a lot.

Thanks for the great videos. Can you share details of the red paint you used for Victa 2 stroke? I need to do the same project, the colour looks a perfect match. thanks
@DrewFixIt9 ай бұрын
Hi Jack, I have a couple of different reds that I use on the VICTAs, one has a bit more of an orange tinge to it than the other. What I do is simply go into the local paint store (aka Bunnings) and get them to colour match based on a flake of paint off of the mower, the staff are pretty damm good IMHO. The combination code on the red mixed up tin I have is: "Library - Taubmans / British Paints | Formula - Red Viper - 186" Cheers Drew

Don't bother, it's a victa

Hi James, I don't understand these VICTAs are the most reliable and long lasting mowers ever made and properly serviced always start first pull ... I put together a playlist just for you to enjoy: kzfaq.info/sun/PLor5qdyoV_nRynWb6lAH-CTPWj6VhZiOd Chers Drew

I say that because the deck on mine fell to pieces in no time, especially where the handle bolts on. It's poor design

@@jamesbrown6470Hi James, thanks for the clarification! I personally find the 2 stroke engines very easy to work with and where I come across a rotted out steel base I typically keep the engine to engine swap onto a good base in the future! Cheers Drew

some loser dumped it. if you look after them the australian made victas will last a lifetime.

He probably a bought a battery one thinking he was saving the planet 🤣🤣🤣

Just a side note, seems this one looks to have had engine swapped at some point. The power torques, to my knowledge, that had the wide spaced cooling fins were the start of the O/S produced engines

Alternatively, it seems maybe the tank/recoil cover has been changed

In my 50 years I have never come across a lawnmower on the street. That's how I know this video is fake

So, I genuinely just drove past another one on the street this morning after dropping the kids to school ... I will tell you where it was because it's probably still there ... it was on Northern side of The Parade just East of the Swim School. Go an have a look for yourself! Cheers Drew

I literally pick 1 up every fortnight that someone has thrown out. Scored a 4 stroke wipper snipper a while back that just needed a good clean and service.

@@southaussielad2496 thanks for the support mate! FYI - I used to only pickup the 2 strokes, but now I pretty much pickup all mowers that I see left on the side of the road!! Cheers Drew

@@DrewFixItnot doubting the finds, I just wish I found them as often as you do. Did get a neat, very early 160 the other week though
@DrewFixIt11 ай бұрын
@@nickwhite6717 Hi Nick, a early 160 sounds sweet! I had a subscriber reach out to me about fairly late model Silver Streak which I literally dug out of their backyard. Surprisingly it looks rather good, so watch out for the video on that one soon! Cheers Drew
