I always treated Vincent as a black mage blue mage hybrid. It felt appropriate for him to use the enemy skill materia considering most of the skills come from monsters…..and vincent can transform into a monster

I've started a run with certain job types. I'm not far and have been breezing through the game atm so I've not got a lot of materia (mostly what can be bought in shops) and ajust got to shinra to save Aeris. I was planning on making RedXiii a Blue Mage. Tifa a Monk, Barret maybe a Paladin type with cover and probably cure..idk yet. Aeris is my whm but when she goes I'll probably use a monk style cure from Tifa or items to help heal. Not sure of the others yet.

That's a good way to handle Vincent, since Enemy Skill is super powerful and Vincent is terrible to use Limit Breaks with. Thematically appropriate too.

I always thought of Red as a Red Mage/Berserker class since he has the most balanced stats compared to everyone in the party. (Also with the info that the name he was given is Red XIII, with M being the 13th letter in the alphabet.) Also, I can see Cait Sith being a Blue Mage/Gambler.

My Job classes in my Run : Cloud=DARK Knight, Barrett=Paladin,tifa=Monk, aerith=White mage,Red=redmage, yuffie=Thief withbninjutsu, cait sith= time mage/Monster tamer, Vincent= blackmage, cid=Dragon/ bluemage

Concerning ennemy skill. While yes you can equip all your ES materia on the same character to learn the skills, it won't work if one of the materia has already learn it (exemple if you go back to learn matra magic and flame thrower with your 2 ES materia equipped, the second one won't learn it, as it is already learnt on the first one)

You really need to either adjust your voice faults or take out some of the bass, because its fucking up your voice and makes it harder to understand it.

Cool vid but challenge runs that abuse things like big guard or curse ring strats aren’t actually challenging, in addition to knowing what and when to steal. I’m venting in general but I want to see a challenge run like this while also pretending you are a new player and don’t know you have to steal 3 carbon bangles, manipulate a specific enemy to learn big guard, etc.

What was the reasoning on giving Barret enemy skill as a the gunner class you set up for him?

I *think* it was to give him the Big Guard ability to make him more of a tank and give him a little more utility.

@@nechrol That makes 100 percent sense now because i also noticed that other members have access to that materia as well so i get it completely. I'm using both yours and Jamsac's examples down the middle. Im using Red as red mage and Cait as a Blue mage but im also making sure what accessories and armor they both can wear as mages from your side of the woods. I did a no exp gain from midgar to kalm so i had to abolish the rules slightly and had everyone use items for certain encounters and bosses but after that i played the challenge to heart when i turned it back off.

Subbing for the correct pronunciation of Cait Sith alone, the interesting run is just a bonus.

I literally beat it with auto attacks and limit breaks. Back in 2000. The summon and spell animation was just too long. =) That is the main reasom why I hate Pokemon now. I beat the underwater weapon in two turns with, I cant quite remember, 8x counter on Cloud and Mimic on the others or something like that. I just went ballistic whenever he attacked me. Every counter did more dmg than KotR in a fraction of the time. I beat FF8 this way as well, same reason. Lionheart on Disc 1. We truly were crazy as children.

ha glad that there's better (speedier) ways to defeat the weapons. Back +20yrs ago it was acceptable to put up with the loading + animation times as that was normal to us. I had no complaints back then :D but trying to squeeze out a session of ff7/8/9/10 on the original hardware now? don't think my time availability will comply with that :(

Even it if it did I would still KoTR Carry armor onwards to death with having 9999 HP 999 MP and Mime it I would still be at lv 60 with 9999 HP 999 MP on Yuffie against Godo on DISC 2.
