I'm pretty sure the reason you can hear Auron, Jecht and Braska during the Vegnagun fight is because the fight is taking place in the Farplanes, basically the spirits are closer to her, so she can hear them because of her connection as a former summoner (since the Summoners were supposed to have such a connection with the spirits of the dead).

I always liked making Paine the white mage for her no-nonsense approach to the job. No flowery words or incantations, just "you're fine, get up." I think for her Songstress design they were going for an Elvis sorta vibe. Clothing gives that impression, and of course there's the gyrating hips that made boomer-era parents faint in shock. And Japan loves Elvis, so wouldn't be a surprise if they took the opportunity to fit a reference in.

Personally I think it makes sense that it's mostly the same enemies because it's the same world. If they went to another Final Fantasy world then obviously they would be mostly different aside from some mainstays, but its still Spira. Don't really get the Aeons though, you're right about that.

I totally agree on the Gippal v Nooj and Baralai character segment, he's so cool and so hot, the fact it's Rick Gomez too makes me love him even more 😭😭

As far as Paine’s backstory. It’s told throughout the game via the Crimson Spheres. So if you 100% the game you get the full picture of what happened with the Crimson Squad and the Den of Woes

Gunner is pretty useful. Highest accuracy and a ton of guaranteed crit, aoe, and defense piercing attacks. Used it a lot back in the day and it's still useful even in the re-release.

I found this series randomly browsing FF-X videos and wanted to find a job guide but really liked the idea of using the most 'sub-optimal' builds in the game-- I'm especially stoked by how you are also able to highlight the parts you like about the game and mechanics as you play! The jokes are funny, the commentary is very enjoyable! 10/10 can't wait to watch the rest of your videos!

I would say the fanservice in this game isn't that bad, I think most of the fanservice scenes are optional, so unless you're really exploring a lot you won't see them. That LeBlanc massage tho is uncomfortably hilarious, it's unexpected for new players and just hilarious for veterans, I'd say that minigame is on the scale of Bayonetta in absurdity

I personally don't mind the fan service. All three of the girls are very pretty so if they are comfortable being in the hot springs in swimsuits is fine in my book.

You have a buffer/debuffer, a healer and a damage dealer. You're going to be fine throughout the entire game. It's not going to be quick or fun but it's going to be absolutely fine. That's my assumption because of RPG class archetypes present within your party. That stuff just works. Now onto the video.

With humanity brought to near extinction probably more than once in the 1000 years of Sin's rampage, the culture probably loosened restrictions on consanguinity. Any healthy babies that can be made are not only welcomed but probably necessary. Cousin marriages probably became the norm! Sibling or parent-child pairings would still be discouraged for the practical reason of more frequent birth defects, Yevon's teachings didn't seem to touch on that at all.

i mean.... if you play the original PS2 Japanese version and get the Cat Nip super early (chapter 2 i think), then the Gunner is the most busted Dressphere in the game. just sit in yellow HP and Trigger Happy max damage all the way to victory.

Spoilers:: shuyin/Baralai's mucking around with vegnagun was what caused the aeons to flip out ad re-manifest. as for why yuna can't summon them: it's because she defeated them i the last game along with yu'yevo ad set them and sin. the faythes lost their powers due to this, making the aeons unsummonable. the dark aeons manifesting was a sign that some seriously unnatural shet was going down. the last fight takes place in the farplanes. the place where people go when they die and are sent in spira. Jeht, Aauron and braska all chime in to encourage yuna (and call shuyin a crybaby). and yes. the audio-book does really really frick with the story and lore of ff10 and as far as i know, it's canon.

1:54:39 I've watched almost this entire video and hearing how you have described a lot of these scenes make this seem like a weak ass game on top of a weak ass Final Fantasy game lol. It's definitely all over the place and they purposely designed it with three females in mind because they wanted to have a fun quirky roster that women could enjoy. And if memory serves there was a pole done where it asked how many poeple liked FFX2 and it was mediocre at best. I think iirc this was around the time when the boss at SE at the time wanted sequel after sequel. ie.. XII-2 on the NDS and eventually xiii trilogy.
