the Zap Gun does tons of damage to bosses, would've been a lot more useful than the broken M1985

Little tip for later playthroughs, spamming the same heat action lowers the damage of the heat action, so when you need to spam heat actions use different actions, like shank,katana,bat,umbrella,tonfa

Step 1: become a no-damager

You should've used the zap shotgun, it eats boss health and stunts a lot of them, you can deal with a Mr.Shakedown full health with like one or two

Im not sure if you need to do real estate for this, but i think you can heal yourself in beast style. Just get some heat and do the beast taunt. It heals you quite a bit.

You guys actually use healing items? This is exactly how I play the Yakuza series and I advise everyone to play like this. It actually teaches you how to play really good.

That's exactly my personal challenge for my second run of this franchise. Legend mode, no healing items. (Huge thanks to theses "no damage" videos) I call it, the "Dragon" playstyle.

I usually only get health from restaurants anyway, but I definitely couldn't on legend difficulty 😳

Ok I’m a watch the fuck out of this for to long has Kaizen been sponsored by Staminan Drinks.

It changes the game, playing like this. I went through casually spamming heals the first time, then I had to do the climax battles/ultimate battles and that changed my outlook. When I was replaying Y3 for the 3rd time to get the Legendary achievement I mostly gun-cheesed everyone, but certain fights like Kazama and Mine deserved more respect even when they're the 3rd time you're playing the game in quick succession, no weapons or heals allowed when doing those fights.

When I play Yakuza I play on Hard with no healing items and no inventory weapons. It's a ton of fun and it makes those long fight sequences so much fun. Although I did have to suck it up and use a healing item for the final boss of 4. Fuck that.

in the first yakuza game I played I didn’t know there was healing items so everytime I wanted to heal I had to suffer through a fight and then go to a restaurant and pray that no one would attack me

I did this on kiwami it was torture I never am doing it again props to you for doing it in 0

I follow my own rules in games too... even tho these things are in the game to help us and there is no problem in using because actually its a part of the game that you should learn to work with too i still have these rules for myself... example i usually have a rule that if i die or fail a certain amount of times in a game i have to restart the hole game the amount changes with the diff of the game of course but usually it keeps close to 3-5 times in "casual diff" games.

This sounds dumb but it’s content. Yakuza 0 but you can only use one style every chapter like this the first one you have to only user brawler(tutorial styles don’t count as a lose)

I remember that breaker combo doesn't sugarcoat it and gives no chance to any of the bosses on medium difficulty. Apparently you can't cheese it on legend though

The less healing items you use, the better you get at the game, at this point i don't even have to use them. Although I guess this is how it works with most of games of the beat em up/ hack and slash type. Highly recommend

i maxed out all my abilities before going to the final battle, and thus just for the hell of it i also discarded my health items cause the game was too easy (i was playing on hard difficulty) besides pulling my shotgun once or twice when enemies were annoying me with stunlock, it was pretty fun, i fought against shibusawa using only dragon style and clutched my win with a counter, i had 1 pixel of hp left hp items should have been weaker, they ruin a lot of the tension in the fights

In my first time playing Yakuza 0 when I started, I didn't know about healing and I beat the whole game without a single item.. It just feels way better and harder this way.

i wish i knew how to buy a shotgun as kiryu before that fight at srena against 20 armed guys ir whatever. i got very frustrated at that even though i had 12 stamiban royales at all times

at my first playthrough, i never knew healing items existed and actually did a no heal run💀

I discovered that u can grab kuze (in sever) by leg after a knocdown and just loop it, its very easy bc u just press circle

I think while it would be possible, it be way more fun to not do it untill new game+ (because of mr shakedown grind)

I can get through more than half a boss fight without healing. When i’m low I let my heat gauge goes up and do heat actions

You know something funny about this, the very first time I played this game, I had no idea you could get healing items until I had to do that one "Buy drinks for the homeless people" challenge and I was like "Holy shit, you can have heals on hand?" Keep in mind I had never played a Yakuza game before, and I made the wise decision to start a new save on Hard. To this day, I have no idea how I got as far as I did, which really goes to show how much of a carry heals are.

For chapter 1 of yakuza 0, I didn't know you could buy healing items which made the first kuze fight much more difficult.

Lots of room to improve... In particular skill/upgrade-wise, considering not a word was said about your choices/priorities when upgrading the boys. Also training skills, which often include one or two skills that completely change how you play the game. (except Fei Hu arguably, although more weapon variety means more full-power Heat Moves) (once per battle fyi, which is why repeating weapon moves is a literal waste of durability)

I'm replaying these through order and the shootout on 0 was really easy but then I did the Kiwami shootout and it kicked my butt a few times. "After he whiffs his 38 combo" lol

... I've never used a shotgun in 0. I was missing out 😭

Honestly this is how i prefere this type of games to play just no healing head first type of deal. I blame it on DMC games rlly after that i just have my prefrence for things and for me these type of games just seem right with no healing during combat

So I get the premises of no healing items, but why did you not use CP Rewards or Shakedown? The money at least would have allowed you to search for a stronger shotgun or one of the cannon weapons. Also, did you upgrade any abilities?

Bruh, I tried to beat Kuze (1st fight) like 15 times WITH health items and normal difficulty. How? That being said, later fights with him were much easier imo, haven't struggled as much there.
