In this video, my buddy Max and I jump a few walls, sneak around some decaying busses and end up in the most spectacular abandoned place I've ever seen. But if that's not enough, Max delivers a scare that I haven't felt in at least a decade. MORE BELOW ↓

Authorities actually planned to demolish it but this location is a gold mine for ukrainian film and video production companies so they pulled some strings to save it. Quite a few music videos are made there

That's an insane roof design! I saw something similar (obviously bigger scale) in the TV show about new Chinese airport. They talked about how difficult it was to design such span with no pillars. I'd be very careful walking on top though. I don't think it's in the condition to be restored

@@PeterSantenello Dear Peter, thanks for answering. You are doing a good and a very important job to break down prejudices about Ukraine and all other countries you have visited. I had never heard a singel bad word about a country you have visited. On contrary you are looking the positive on every culture. Then it's up to me to find out more about the country. I also greatly appreciated the clips from your homeland US - a great country too. Greetings from Central-Europe.

@@ukrainekyiv8752 You are right. And living in Ukraine means for many Ukrainians in a way to live in a "survival camp" (I'am sorry for this hard expression). When I wrote the sentence I understood it more in a figurative sense. Freedom means (and you are a free country except Crimea and a part of Donbas), everybody can say and tray what they want (within laws). Look to Minsk, Chabarovsk, even to Moscow: people want to be free and to be taken seriously. After the first stage (revolution of dignity) now Ukraine must to be reconstruct in a constitutional country. I'am convinced that you Ukrainians generally took the right path (also with some steps back - I know it). But on my opinion there exist now two Ukraine. The first Ukraine was before Majdan (I was in 2000 for the first time in UA), the second Ukraine began after Majdan (in 2019 I was for the last time in UA). It was the fundament for all following steps to became a prosperous country. A lot of things are ongoing simultaneously - for foreigners it seems sometimes chaotic - but it has it logic because every other country began with major contractions. That is my outside view. One of my favorite Eastern-Europe-Historian, Timothy Snyder (American), wrote in 2015 a beautiful essay about your country "Edge of Europe, End of Europe" (I could not find it neither in Ukrainian nor in Russian): www.nybooks.com/daily/2015/07/21/ukraine-kharkiv-edge-of-europe/

The decay of abandoned things fascinates me. How does it play out? Why were all those buses smashed looking when really they were originally probably left in reasonable condition? Those offices upstairs, how did the contents get so spread around like that? It looks like the people decided to ransack the place before they left on their last day of work. I'm too much of a pansy nowadays to go somewhere like that. But if I got talked into it, I'd want leather gloves and a leather jacket. Respirator mask. There were so many ways to cut yourself in that place! I'd never climb that bridge in a million years. How cool to find fun kids hanging out up there!
