I'm only beginning the second half of my first year as a SRNA in a DNAP program and I'm already overwhelmed thinking about what I want out of a first job. On the one hand you want to be able to perform all the skills you're trained to perform and develop as a skilled provider that will probably give you some good job mobility down the line, but on the other hand I'd sweep the floor for 200+k to get out from under these loans.

@boltcrna does crna schools look into whether or not the nursing program (ASN) I attended isn’t accredited ? But the BSN one is accredited.

Why would a practice ask you to give up skills? Wouldn't they want you to be doing all you can? Is it an insurance billing thing? I am assuming you are hinting at a anesthesiologist or other MD doing a specific procedure such as a central line or nerve block.

Can you expand upon which healthcare corporations, locations, etc that restrict the full scope of CRNA's, generally speaking?

Apply for HPSP scholarship. School is paid for by whatever military branch u choose in exchange for service after you go to school. Plus you’re paid throughout your school career without having to actually work

I saw some schools online offering less than 15,000$ for DNAP, what’s your view on that?
@BoltCRNA
@BoltCRNA 4 жыл бұрын
Those are for practicing CRNAs who have a masters in anesthesia and just lack the research courses and large research project component. No CRNA training program is online.
@carlaredhead4362
@carlaredhead4362 4 жыл бұрын
It’s not an online program, it’s a school offering full time course program. www.collegevaluesonline.com/rankings/affordable-certified-nurse-anesthetist-programs/ This was the website I visited and I saw the list of the schools. I just want to know the difference of some school having to offer less amount and higher amount for the program.
@BoltCRNA
@BoltCRNA 4 жыл бұрын
That websites data is wrong. I clicked on one of the CRNA programs website and it was over $20,000 more than the website you linked listed. I don't know the nuances of why one program may be more expensive than others, I'm sure it depends on many factors.

is it possible to work as a nurse and study for crna at the same time?

Not likely. Most students can't work at all. The rare few who manage anything it is a couple shifts a month PRN.

@BoltCRNA
@BoltCRNA 2 жыл бұрын
Many programs will not allow working. Some programs allow it but heavily discourage it. You won't physically have enough time in the week to significantly work and pass the program. I've known of a rare few who have picked up a couple PRN shifts per month.

@@BoltCRNA Hi Bolt can a CRNA perform anesthesia in any setting? I have seen it reported that CRNAs can perform anesthesia in any setting that an anesthesiologist can. So for instance what about a hard case like cardiac open heart surgery? Or pediatric cardiac case? I know anesthesiologist go and do fellowships etc, but can CRNAs do those same type surgery’s? Thank you!

Lol. Pay goes down? With going home at 3pm with no calls or weekends you will still be getting at least 150-180k which is more than enough to live a nice life. Anything above is just mere enrichment.....
