What's your preference, old school gutter rails, or modern gutter channels?

been 4 years since Simon did this install, it's been all over Australia including tuff tracks like that canning loads up without an issue. i noticed some where concerned about tools on the roof this car is for 4x4 and its not a show pony and as such hitting the send petal in not an issue for the Ranger.

What you demonstrated is exactly what I want to do to my 2013 Honda Pilot. I need to use track with my car, because none of the major rack manufacturers make Backbone or track setups for the Honda Pilot, which was marketed and sold only in North America. The solution I was offered by Front Runner and Yakima was to drill track in the virgin steel immediately inboard or the existing gutter, which I would like to avoid since I have much the same existing ditch channel/gutter as you have on the Ranger in your video. I want to replicate what you've done here--by removing a section of the existing plastic gutter strip covering and flush mounting the Rhino Rack track in the same gutter space. That's a very clean and tidy installation. It also keeps the profile exceptionally low where I have to clear a rather tight space between my roof and garage door sill. So, my question for you, Lock your Hubs 4WDing, is 1) is the Rhino Rack track a standard width capable of use in many sport-utility makes and models and 2) where you use "Ford Ranger" specific leveling wedges/shims, is it possible to try an assortment of shims from Rhino Rack to find the right roof curvature angle--the Honda Pilot roof is quite flat past the door pillar alongside the sunroof opening? I believe I also read that the Rhino RLT600 Quick Mount Legs offer 33 degrees of swivel. Do they also allow pitch adjustment? Your help would be much appreciated. (My purpose is to support a platform rack to carry and evenly distribute/support a 160 Lb. slim-profile, aluminum rooftop tent.)

Kits have come a long way...everything is included, everything fits. I wasn't sure if they were aluminium or steel pop rivets?

Would like to see a stress test over corrugations.
