I actually did email you guys for some assistance on this for my 2015 Lexus GS350 AWD and the reply I received was that it should not be done...or more specifically "we do not recommend running a staggered setup on AWD vehicles as it may cause issues with your drive-train, etc.."....and that was it

What are you tires sizes, or rather what is the difference in diameter between the front and back? I'm looking into a set up with a 4mm difference but nervous lol (19×8F 225/35/19, 19×9R 255/30/19).

The stock setting on my 996 Carrera 4 was +0.86%, but the previous owner changed them out for wheels from a 997 Carrera (2WD) with a stagger of +3.59% so I’d switched it to a custom setup that resulted in a -0.39% (I didn’t use the OEM spec because the new rims were made to run a slightly wider tire in front and I’m not trying to stretch the tires) Only real difference I felt was with the +3.59%, the PSM (traction control) liked to kick in right away where as now it’ll let me spin the tires a little. Not a huge difference. It’s very slight, but it’s there.

Glad I watched this! Lexus is250 2006 Current I run, 224/45R17 94W front and 245/45R17 99W rear. Also, 17" x 7.5", +35 Offset for my wheels. From my understanding the only difference between the front and rear tire is slight change in speed rating. I went to costco to order some new tires cause recently I've been driving on a spare so I figured it's about time... I went in warehouse suggested a brand, told them my cars info, and drive train (AWD). They suggested 225/45ZR17/XL (idk what xl means but ok) W 94. Exactly what i expected thing is two weeks later i come in the put the two front on but say my lexus is STAGGERED so they have to order some tires for the rear and guess what... The rear cost more $, considering my drivetrain is AWD and the setup ive been running for about a year or more i feel like they are trying to play me. What do yall think? Tires Front: DELINTE® 841623100087 - THUNDER D7 (225/45R17 94W) Tires Rear: DELINTE® 841623100629 - THUNDER D7 (245/45R17 99W) Wheels all 4: KONIG® - RUNLITE Gold (17" x 7.5", +35 Offset, 5x114.3 Bolt Pattern, 73.1mm Hub) Costco tire: BFGoodrich - g-Force COMP-2 A/S PLUSItem #1441299

Hello.. Ive got a Subaru sti and I recently bought a 18x9.5 +35offset wheels (set of 4) with 245/40R18 on all four wheels.. I came across with a fitment problem bcuz of the front brake calipers being a lil big which makes me put a 8mm wheel spacers for the front and 4mm in the back.. my question is, would that affect my all wheel drive and rear diff or any suspension parts?

If I understand this correctly, the AWD really only concerns the diameter of the wheel and tire. Width does not matter except when considering tire rotation. I'm considereing GTR rims for my G37x Sedan Manufacturer: Rays Wheels Construction: One piece forged aluminium Size: Front 20 x 9.5J +45 - Rear 20 x 10.5J +25 PCD: 114.3, 5 hole Weight: Front 10.3 Kg (-1.6kg) - Rear 10.8Kg (-1.4kg)

I’m having a problem, just thought I’d throw it out there for some help. I have a ‘13 Subaru Legacy. My problem is my car pulls BOTH ways. Normally it’s on a bump or a curve in the road. Let’s say I hit a small bump going 35mph with my front right wheel, my steering wheel will then pull with about 5-10lbs of force to the right, resulting in my (usually use one hand on the wheel) having to grab my steering wheel with both hands. Also when I turn it feels as though my car isn’t turning and instead sort of sliding before it starts turning. On top of that, in full lock turning at about 2-5mph my wheels would chirp/squeal (obviously I don’t have welded diffs). I got an alignment a couple months ago so I’m guessing it’s not my alignment, my tires are somewhat cupped so I’m not sure if that could be all of my problems. I also have aftermarket wheels. My only conclusions to what could possibly have caused this problem is my tires are bad, or because I got in an accident in December where I crashed into a frozen snow bank going 40 (not sure if that would’ve broken and front end parts) or because I popped a tire and put a mismatching tire on for a month, it was the same size but different tread. Would love to have someone figure this out as I cannot.
@FitmentIndustries
@FitmentIndustries 6 жыл бұрын
Hey man, Sounds like you have ran into some trouble here, I would say based on what you stated about that when you crashed into that snow bank you might have caused some issues for your front end parts I would advise to take your ride to a local mechanic shop and have them take a close look at your tires and determine if you need new tires or if something else is needed, I hope this helps and good luck brotha! 👍

Hello so i have a 2014 x5 i recently put 22s on my x5 and now I’m getting that slippage and sometime a jerking motion. I was told to fix this issue was to get a transfer case and differential case service and get the transfer case recalibrated. Can you please give me some insight?

I have a question that im hoping y’all can answer, so I bought my wheels with stretched tires on them, I have an awd and im wondering if I can get regular size tires to put on the back? Wheels are 9.5 wide, tires on front are 225/35/18 and I’m wanting 265/35/18 on the back

It all depends on if they will still fit on your car. Will it be too big inside the fender?

I've always been about maximizing tire width, without rubbing... a mean aesthetic look. Since I've mostly owned Honda's, FWD has been my niche. My Honda Accord V6 Coupe comes stock with 18x8.0 et55 on 235/45/18 on all four corners. I upgraded to Advan RZII on 19x9.0 et35 on 245/40/19 and 19x10.0 et35 on 275/35/19 tires. Along with suspension upgrades that includes Tein coilovers, 3-piece camber kit, and so forth... my car is far more planted and hugs the road incredibly. My toe is zeroed out and the camber is a lot more aggressive (at 2.5 degrees in the rear). Overall, from my personal experience, FWD cars are easier to do a staggered set up. Yes, I understand that a staggered set up makes little sense on a FWD but why not maximize tire width where you're on lighter rim/tire packages? I haven't seen a loss in MPG, mainly due to the Advan rims being so got damn light. Uneven tread wear isn't really noticeable after 20,000 miles of driving (again, my toe is zero degrees and I get an alignment every year... it's toe that degrades tires). So, Fitment Industries, what is your take on staggered fitments on FWD? Some may say it's rice, personally, if it improves performance, no, it's not.

Your wheels bigger in front or rear? I know FWD racers (not just drag) run fatter tires in front with lower PSI. Personally, I think a lot of RWD people talk shit about what works and what doesn't work for FWD applications, and only think about power / acceleration. Whereas rear spoilers and wider tires in the back for example can help with cornering and stability. FWD cars can definitely go fast enough in the real world where aero and stability become an issue. Won't win any races, but there's nothing wrong with getting more confidence and keeping it safe at the limit.

There a lot wider in the rear. However, when compared to the square OEM set-up, with the 235/45/18 tires, the original set-up weighed at around 55lbs (rim + tires). The set up I have now is around 40lbs total (rim + tires), in the rear at each corner. So, there's been a reduction in weight. Overall, to be honest, I like maximize the width to make the car have a mean stance. If you're going lighter, why not maximize width. Overall, with turns, my car handles amazing. Granted I have Tein coilovers, camber kit, and Summer tires.

Honda Crosstour EXL V6 4WD 4,100 lbs wagon with thicker RSB, riding on custom lowering springs +20%F / +25% Rear (since the Teins would drop too low cause of the weight) @ -1" from OEM, Went from square 225/60R18 to square 245/45R20 with a weight reduction as well. The wider wheels handle much better at the limit, but you won't know you're at the limit as easily. The skinny tires lets you know you're approaching the limit very clearly, but the limit is a lot less aggressive than the wider tires. For a wagon I handle incredibly well, I think OE for Japanese cars are too skinny... all for MPG I guess. My MPG didn't suffer that much tbh.

I have a 2015 Lexus GS 350 all wheel drive. I want to purchase rims from somebody who has a Lexus RC350. I'm sure they will be the right bolt pattern but the only problem is, the rims are the same size all the way around but the two front tires he's selling with the rims are different sized than the rear tires. Here are the specs: 20 X 10 245/35ZR20 And 275/30ZR20. What I want to know is if this would cause any issues on my vehicle AT ALL? I want to know because I don't want to cause anything detrimental to the car. I in no way am willing to sacrifice performance of any kind for rims. I appreciate your assistance. Thanks

I run a staggered setup on my AWD E91 BMW Wagon, which consists of ESR SR01 wheels, 19x9.5 +22 in front with 235/35/19 tires and 19x10.5 +22 with 265/30/19 tires in rear. This is the first staggered set I've ever run on a car, period. And this is even considering that I had THREE previous BMWs before this one that were all RWD. Weird...I know. :) The BMW E9X chassis cars are well known for having issues if that 1% ride height variance is messed with. Luckily, I did enough research to make sure that I would be ok because I've been running this setup for over two months now with no issues. I've seen some other guys on the BMW forums that are running setups that shouldn't issues, but still do. I think that must come down to the differences in various tires and/or the manufacturing tolerances of those tires. I don't know. ???
