If you have AMS, put 2 of the same filament in there. Use the paint tool to paint the top with the second spool. Change the setting to want you want on second spool.

Thanks for this idea . I thought I tryed with "second spool" (i have the AMS), but I was not able to set one to vase and the other for normal printing, but will look into it again.

@@DM4DS You could also slice the whole model as a vase, then go in to the gcode and grab the top piece. Go back to this one and inject the code in there. That would be a heck of a rabbit hole but would make a good video

@americasmostblunted1591 - tryed it but does not work . if you try to switch to vase mode, the studio puts out an error that it is not possible to set "vase mode" in dual color. Maybe you can try it and send the 3mf? Maybe I´m too lazy.

Not sure if it allows swapping between vase mode and normal mode, but you can use the cut tool set to “create parts” which leaves the object in place but then allows you to set different “object setting” per part (you’ll need to switch to the “object” tab above the settings).

tryed that already and does not work. If I activate vase mode in Object 1, it automatic activates it in object 2. if I then set "normal mode" on object 2, object 1 is also "normal" mode. Maybe I´m missing something, maybe you can try and save the 3mf file?

The problem can be solved changing the design of the model. Redesign the vase solid body by an empty body without infill and it should work on the slicer

But then it is still no Vase mode, like a spiral up. Then it is just a reguar print with walls... I have such a design in the project but Vase mode brings the best results, because there is no scar. I don´t understand why only 1 Commercial (as I know) slicer supports this. Happy New Year - Sandor - DM4DS

Explore "objects" under processes. A fella who goes by "the 3d print general" made a video called "an in-depthlook at bambu studio slicer" around 39 minutes is where he explains it. Check it out, I hope this helps.

there is still no option for vase + normal mode. A friend and I really tryed everything and also reported on github. The answer was clear: not possible to combine both modes in a part / build plate.

The problem is your model not the slicer. Did you design it?

Yes, I designed it . I made it for "walls" too, but I want the Vase Part + Thread. It´s much nicer , faster to print

You almost had it with your last idea Print with the threaded section touching the build plate (upside-down) seeing how every time you merge the models the threaded piece orientated itself on the build plate automatically anyways The biggest issue after that is getting clean bridging because of course with the standard orientation in vase mode the bottom is flat to the buildplate rather than the upside-down orientation I am suggesting Do you understand what I mean ? Basically do everything you are doing but print the model upside-down

I understand what you mean, but the thread in vase mode does not work, maybe I could raise the bottom layer so far to the height the "vase" begins. Then as you said, the bridging is the next problem. I made a simplify3d profile, Video is public on the channel, there it prints like I want it. Don't understand why no other slicer can do this? Thanks for your comment. Great 2023. DM4DS - Sandor
