Absolutely and maybe as an incentive for future driver testers, they should be open to criminal prosecution if the driver that they improperly give a license to hurts or kills someone. This isn't the first time that a driver on this show has admitted that their adjudicator gave them a pass for reasons other than competence in driving skills. It is reckless endangerment to pass someone to operate a motor vehicle when they aren't qualified to do so.

@gamer295916 жыл бұрын
Good for Travis! He maynot have reached the same level as the other nominees, but he sure did improve enough to graduate (funny how we thought he would be the worst this year). This Episode just added to my annoyance on Melanie since it feels like she isn't taking this seriously at all. Partying almost every night is one thing, but sending goofy pictures from the hospital after you collapsed is almost insulting to the other drivers who are worried for her condition. We are almost at the final 3 now, and I think it's going to be Adam, Ashley, and Melanie.
@sandbakk776 жыл бұрын
I said right from the start that I think Ashley is this year's Krystal. Of course, Krystal was in a league of her own, but Ashley is a terrible driver. And she didn't even pass the test? This is why getting a license should be hard, but loosing it should be easy.
@superbudgie65786 жыл бұрын
I can kind of understand why she's partying though. Shes a single mother of 4 children, two of which have special needs. She probably doesn't get very much time to enjoy herself so she's taking advantage.

I do agree with you on your point. But I feel that her taking goofy photos to the cast when they were obviously worried for her safety was not okay.
@wainber16 жыл бұрын
I believe that, among the 4 candidates who remain: - Melanie will (due to her medical issues behind the wheel) be in the final 3 - Shane (should he continue to show that he can't control his temper behind the wheel unless Shyamala, Andrew or one of the CWD staffers accompanies him) will be in the final 3 (given Shane's admission, to the CWD panel, that were it not for Tim's presence on that 1st public drive since arriving @ the rehab centre, that Shane would've assaulted the driver who he claimed had cut him off on a freeway) That leaves Ashley or Adam as the 3rd candidate to make it to the final episode, although Shane may very well end up improving his temper enough that he graduates. It should be interesting to find out what happens during episode 7, scheduled to air next week on Monday evening North American Eastern Time.
@sandbakk776 жыл бұрын
I'm not so sure Melania will be in the finals. Chances are she's simply not healthy enough to drive, so she might quit entirely. Shane is an idiot, and certainly doesn't belong on the road, unless he can control his temper. But I don't know if that makes him a candidate for the finale. He is a decent driver, compared to the others. Adam is more of a wildcard. He has potential to be a great driver, but it can take quite a while to get there. That leaves Ashley, who had the most "laps of shame" of them all. Don't know if she'll "win" (if we can call it that), but she probably won't graduate next episode.

Contrary to common thinking, the primary purpose of the transmission's "Park" position (and parking pawl) is to keep the engine's power from reaching the drive wheels when the engine is running, not to stop the vehicle from rolling when parked - this is the job of the e-brake.

It's hard to believe that season 13 of CWD is almost done, with just 2 episodes left. I do admit that season 12's Krystal was in a league of her own, although there hasn't been a shortage of terrible driving in any of the seasons. That Joe, Julie, Breanna and, in last night's episode, Travis have all graduated leave Melanie, Shane, Ashley and Adam left. Interesting times indeed.

It's not sexist. Melanie is spoiled and selfish. She doesn't care about her kids. Do you think she'd adopt any? Ha. Sadly bad parents like her are a common problem in this world. Don't do their jobs, blame everybody else for their problems and women like Melanie go with the wrong guys, or just piss off the guys they were with and still get custody of the kids and child support payments, even if they're bad mothers. I should know. My mother was like that. Went with my asshole father. Stayed with him for 20 years, and despite that, he lost his job and refused to get another one until 3 years after they finally divorced. If that's not bad enough, she had 2 more kids with him after he was fired, despite that she barely made enough to support us as it was and we lived in a cramped 2 bedroom house until I was 11 and didn't parent them. She'd just say "It's a phase they're going through, they'll grow out of it". Ask her to parent and she'd ask "What do want me to do about it?" I was happier as an only child. Melanie reminds me of her. I wouldn't be surprised if one of her kids turned out like my brothers.

Oh boy, was this an episode! I should start off by saying that Travis really surprised me. With him gone, it seems like we're going to have an interesting last two episodes. My hope for Ashley is starting to fade, but at this point, Melanie is starting to piss me off. Getting wasted during her off-time at rehab? This reminds me of Angelina from season 9 (she couldn't even do a lot of the challenges due to her being wasted). After this episode, I'm certain that either Shayne or Adam will be the next to graduate (I'm leaning towards Shayne, based on Adam's breakdown in the icy corner preview), and the one of those two that makes it to the finals will be the final graduate. I think this leaves Melanie and Ashley as the final 2. At this point, I think that barring Melanie going through a HUGE attitude change, she will be the worst, as I think that someone who gives zero fucks is worse than someone who is actively bad, but wants to try to change.
@baddriversofmoosejaw86816 жыл бұрын
Indeed. Melanie not only doesn't care about improving, she's spoiled and selfish. She's a bad mother, who doesn't care about her kids either.
@gamer295916 жыл бұрын
Ok, BDoMJ, I don't think it's fair to label her as a bad mother. She does care about her kids, but her problem is that she has no motivation to actually do the lesson or drive on her own (it's more likely that because she was married before she never had the motiation, but that's speculation). I also do agree with you Tyler that drinking every night isn't the best thing, but as one commenter pointed out to me, she's a single mother so she never has a lot of freedom. I will say however that she doesn't know her limit of drinking, and sending goofy pics to the other nominees at the hospital, while they are obviously worried about her, was a dumb move. And yeah, Travis was the biggest surprise for me this season as I thought he would be at the finale. I do try and watch these seasons with low expectations on who is the worst (excluding S12 Krystal, her poor attitude made me think she was the worst of the bat). But yeah, let's see where this go. I personaly think Shayne will graduate next as he's the better of the four, but he just needs to calm his road rage down.
@wainber16 жыл бұрын
Melanie has so far shown not enough motivation to become a safer, more confident driver, although I do hope, for the sake of her kids, that she is not named Canada's Worst Driver. She must nonetheless show that she is safe and confident enough that, when she leaves the Driver Rehab Centre, she can drive on her own without major problems. It remains to be seen whether she will be up to the job or end up, at best, as a runner-up to Canada's Worst Driver.
@baddriversofmoosejaw86816 жыл бұрын
Doesn't sound like she was married. They call her a single mother, which means she had kids without getting married. If she was married before, they'd call her a divorced mother. The reason I say she's a bad mother, is because she has 2 special needs kids that have appointments in Halifax, but she refuses to take them, if she can help it, because she hates highway driving. She tries to get someone else to drive her and her kids to their appointments and if that doesn't work she just cancels the appointments, instead of giving her special needs kids the help they need. I said it before and I'll say it again: She should just move to Halifax, find a job there and then she can either ride the bus, call for a taxi, or simply drive the kids to their appointments and not have to worry about highway driving to do so.
@OneProudBBC6 жыл бұрын
Angelina from Season 9 had mental issues which weren't being taken care of. Angelina did have an excuse (trust me, I was picking Angelina to be CWDE that season) for all the drinking and medications she was under, as she was being pushed on waiting list, after waiting list, after waiting list, for her mental health crisis. Melanie on the other hand, just didn't care and really pissed me off at that time. But I was happy for Travis.

That's also why I find the Dependence on Looking out the Rear on the Show rather Stupid. You have to be able to drive on your Side Mirrors only, especially with Utility and Sports Cars. You should throw People into the Cold Water, because everything after it is easy.

How can simple, careful maneuvering of a car be so difficult for some people to master? As a kid, I always remember noticing what was going on. I knew basic road rules by the time I was like 5. Also had a solid feel for the basic physics and behavior of a vehicle, b/c I just noticed it. But more importantly, how has this show not made Canada dramatically improve their driver training requirements? Seems like they should have run out of contestants by now....lol I am also curious, statistically, if the US could have a show like this. Are there enough horrible drivers here? I know here in Michigan, most people are pretty decent, but at least when I took driver training (circa 1999), it was a pretty solid and strict program. Was not a cakewalk to pass, though not the hardest thing I've done in my life.

The whole episode is sad, but watching them park in the parking lot is just sad....they get excited when they actually park after failing a dozen times for no reason at all is well..sad.

"for when your normal brakes don't work which happens never". no it does not; my dad's brakes stopped working and he could only use the handbrake for a day and it's fuckin' terrifying.

A long trailer is easier to reverse. Than a. Short one, the response time and amount of steering changes with the length, family of semi drivers here

Couple of very simple rules for backing 1. Never go faster than a person can walk 2. It isn't how hard you turn the wheel it's how long you hold the turn 3 if in doubt get out and look 4 steer top of wheel towards trouble

... you’re not supposed to pull the parking break when you park? Well I learned something today
@hecklerkoch2405 жыл бұрын
On hills or steep territory yes, on flat no need for it, in a manual u always just put in 1st gear n thats it, i think its the same with an auto (by putting in P “gear“)
@WaldoBC5 жыл бұрын
@@hecklerkoch240 DID YOU KNOW? Contrary to common thinking, the primary purpose of the transmission's "Park" position (and parking pawl) is to keep the engine's power from reaching the drive wheels when the engine is running, not to stop the vehicle from rolling when parked - this is the job of the e-brake.
@jeremystyers5 жыл бұрын
@@WaldoBC No, I did not. Then why doesn't the car automatically engage it when the car is turned off? If it's not the parks job then why design the car as if it is and not make drivers aware? I mean I did know about the parking brake on hills to help the car not move but I always thought of it as extra protection, not a main thing for stopping a car as I thought park was for that.

If the real reason for hand break was the emergency j break, cars wouldn't be having electronic handbreaks. Also, on one episode they say that all cars have reverse camera, and now they're trying to teach them how to use a manual handbreak that you can't even find in a modern car...
