I went last year and Fred's was like top of our list.l had the lobster Thermidor excellent. They also had a New dessert for Valentine's Day, awesome. The owner was awesome and helpful. Highly recommended

Great food reviews 👌🏽. I have been to Fred's seafood and Taco & Tequila. Ilios looks like a really great place to go if you want good food and great entertainment. I tried to go there last time, but they was booked up with reservations. I most definitely will be going there next time. If you havent already try Harry's steakhouse & Raw bar next time you go to Cancun the food is AMAZING!!!

The octopus may have been pushing it, but honestly it was really good. It won’t replace a good home-grilled burger for us or anything, but it seemed like a good move on vacation 😉

When did the show start? What time would you say one should make their reservation for Ilios

Ilios opens at 5pm each night. Our reservation was at about 7pm and the show started at around 8pm. That was a good time because it gave us about an hour to eat and talk in a relaxed atmosphere, and then the whole vibe changed when the show started so we just sat back and watched. You can book a reservation through Open Table. Hope you have a great time!

How far are these restaurants from Westin Lagumar? Are they all walking distance from the hotel? You baby is so precious!! Thank you.

Well, thank you! We are quite partial to her 😊. Most of the restaurants we went to are within walking distance, like El Fish Fritanga and the many restaurants at the mall (directly across the street). Illios and Fred’s were a 5 minute cab ride, and they helped arrange a cab for us to return to our hotel with no problems. You could probably walk to Fred’s but it’s a bit of a hike in the heat. Let us know if you have any more questions.

Thanks so much for watching! We used the Open Table app to book reservations at Fred’s and Ilios, but we were able to just walk up at all the other locations. If you are staying at a resort the concierge should be able to assist with reservations, as well. Hope this helps!

Thank you! Illios had a show at 8pm and another at 10pm. Check the times for your trip just to be sure. The show was really cool and the entire restaurant loved it.

is it even possible to find some non-tourist, local, budget places to eat in hotel zone? Whether restaurant or even on the side of the street.....

It is possible to find some non-touristy places, but it depends on where you are on the hotel zone. The main shopping area in the middle of the zone has a ton of restaurants but, to your point, they would also be hit up with tourists. We had the most luck taking the public bus or a cab to the edge of the zone, where we’ve seen more street food vendors and small restaurants. We would also classify El Fish Fritanga as non-touristy. It’s in the middle of the hotel zone but we hardly ever see tourists there. It’s a bit of a hidden gem. But if you find some places that you recommend we would love to hear!

Ha this made us laugh. She actually made it though high school Spanish and then honed her skills through years of working at a popular theme park. I say she is fluent but she agrees with you 😀
