If not this series I definitely see potential for the mangaka to create something later on that could be long lasting. I'm hopeful for this though.

I think that this will be a great hit. This is a good plot for a shonen, has a compelling story, and can be easily animated. The Recette is cool and the power system is like YES. Everything about this is cool imo, especially the art. I hope this does well, but yeah, it could become trash. Also, this deserves to be an anime just because CANDY.

Just read the first chapter and so far good start seeing a big donut man getting hit with a giant lollipop is ridiculous in a good way

It definitely has potential and I see myself getting invested in the future. For now, the first chapter was pretty solid and I’ll keep reading every week

I was actually a bit surprised there was so little humor in chapter 1 with the premise being what it is - so I guess only time will tell.

I really loved the first chapter. It gives me the cartoony and carefree vibes of early one piece while also feeling distinct. I really hope it gets big.

I personally like the characters but villains will be trouble because there are only so many candies which is why I think they will need longer lasting villains.

That’s what I’ve seen a few people say, & I kinda agree. Tis a pretty light-hearted/comedic battle Shonen that definitely gives off the impression that it’d be better in animated form based off of what we’ve seen thus far. 😁

I sadly wasn't a huge fan of this first chapter. It was just okay, it didn't blow me away like Blue Box did last week and this week. I might be getting way to excited about Blue Box because I don't even know if it will be staying in Jump for it's entire story but I've fallen in love with the story and characters so far. Yeah, it's not the best and most greatest thing out there but for me, I love the kinds of stories that Blue Box is telling. And so far, with only 2 chapters I'm extremely excited for it's future and hope it succeeds. It's definitely my favorite new Jump title hands down. Btw, I respect you for being able to keep up with every weekly series. I personally can't do that, especially for series I wouldn't enjoy reading as much as others. Thanks for all you do man.

I love your style and how fast you upload a video to talk about a new series. What did you think of Blue Box Chapter 2? I know you love your sports series and the fresh take on the sports genre with this series for me is so good.

Love the chapters so far especially the ice cream user but seeing how there is only 100 candy user may make it short.

I mean maybe, 100 is a lot. Zatch Bell is pretty long & I believe it started with like 100 Demons in a Battle Royals basically.

The concept is cool i just dont think its taken far enough, right now it seems to be just a backdrop and its pretty generic despite the high concept. The characters have promise but some dialouge fell flat, and felt inconsistent. The story feels janky and not very well thought through, could be much smoother and more nuanced. Art is fine but nothing special, some panels felt messy and not too fun to read. Don't see it sticking around long especially with Blue Box in the same batch.

I think judging it by the first chapter is always a big mistake since no one knows how good it would be in the future , i actually do hope it gets good cuz i see aloot of potential and can get really good , Also ffs i really hate the word cliche getting tossed around like u expect the author to invent the condom . Seariasly no hate tho

I hope it gets better too, and by no means intend for my first impression of a series to be representative of it as a whole, opinions will change with time, but as a KZfaqr I kinda have to talk about it early rather than waiting for the whole thing to end. Plus, I always end up talking about jump series again with updated opinions - either in my annual rankings, via casual conversations on twitch, or when ranking series that ended. My opinion has changed both for better and for worse in the past, so I agree there is indeed no way of knowing from just 1 chapter. Doesn’t mean I shouldn’t try. 😂

No worries at all - I appreciate the support & honest feedback 🙏 I actually try to use the word cliche as little as possible since it's kinda become a bit of a throwaway word, so I get where you're coming from, but cliche isn't always bad. Just meant the story itself follows a pretty standard trend so far despite how unique the concept/premise & whatnot is. Here's to hoping this series lives up to the potential it has! =D

Why exactly did it happen? I thought the story had immense potential ( Mystery behind sweet users, motivation of villain behind destruction of Tokyo etc)

Feels like pretty basic shonen. Seeing how Our Blood Oath, Phantom Seer, and Build King were cancelled early. Here's hoping it differentiates itself.

I think it reminds me a lot of Bone Collection based on the first chapter - which is part of why I’m wary. In chapter 1 they were like “if I find out I have this power it’ll ruin my life”, then they’re casual as heck with it. Lol. Bone Collection seemed okay based on Chapter 1, then went downhill so fast for me.

There hasn't been a non basic Shonen for like ten years , but only time will tell if this gets axed
