There's a reason the first chess AI is developed 10 years earlier than the first Go AI. With chess if you remembered all the rule. You can mostly play without making illegal move. Albeit very basically. In go... Even if you have remembered and understood all the rules. You'll probably be making illegal move or stop to consider if a spot is good to put your pieces in or not pretty often for the first 20-30 games you play.

It's sad that ppl call him evil just bcoz he blamed shoya for shouko's bullying in middle school and forgot that he actually tried to stop ishida from bullying shouko in manga in the beginning. He also advised him to join cram school for his better future. But ishida instead made kazuki skip his classes. So, Both of them were bad influences to each other. Also, there's no proof that Kazuki was going to bully ishida that night he fell in river. The only thing we saw IS KAZUKI SAVING HIS ISHIDA'S LIFE BY JUMPING IN THE RIVER. HE DESERVES SECOND CHANCE TOO LIKE ISHIDA DID. WE SAW ISHIDA SUFFERINGS THAT'S WHY WE FELT SYMPATHY FOR HIM BUT WE NEVER SAW KAZUKI'S SUFFERINGS THAT'S WHY PPL DON'T CARE ABOUT HIM UNFORTUNATELY. He's an interesting character and deserves redemption arc, it was good to see that Ishida wanted to clear misunderstandings between them in manga but writer never made that part.

I know I’m 6 years late, but after watching the movie when it came out I recently read the manga and was totally surprised seeing her and Sahara end up as business partners and implied romantic partners by the end of the story. But on reflection, I think it makes sense as Sahara accepted Ueno for who she was and didn’t try to change her, and could be honest with her as well. I think that’s part of what drew Ueno to Ishidq in the first place, because as a kid he didn’t really have a filter and spoke his mind freely and just did what he want. Sahara grew into a person with the strength to do what she wanted even in the face of large obstacles while Ishida became more reserved and self-critical. I think it makes total sense that in the end she chose Sahara over him.

Interestingly I knew about this show long before this version of it. Played the DVD video game, got the OVA Phantom the Animation and the game re-release. This was by far one of my favorites. Also Bee Train made Noir, Madlax, El Cazador de la Bruja, .dot/Hack, and Murder Princess some of my under the radar favs. Yuki Kaijura with the music is also always a win for me.
